Are you a mouth breather or a mouth gagger?

Post by Controlshift » Thu Jul 14, 2016 12:09 pm

Hi
After struggling for months with an ahi of 10, pressure 14ish, on a full face mask thinking I was a mouth breather (as air gushed from my mouth at night), I met a former employee of a medical devices company in a pub who asked the above question.
I got a chinstrap and went back to my nasel mask and my ahi is 1 with pressure 5ish. 3 days in a row now!
Hope this helps anyone mouth breathers struggling

Neither.
Using a full face mask, cool, "passover" humidification and doing nasal cleansing before bedtime, I went from a mouth-breather to a nasal breather.

I don't see how air "rushing from your mouth" should be called "gagging"???

Sometimes it could be "gabbing".

An option to nasal mask is a full face mask, which I as a mouth breather I preferred the night of my sleep test, and that is all I have used.

Now using AirFit F10 mask; Quattro Air is backup mask. RemZzzz mask liners with both.

I had a full face and whole face, but they say you get the best pressure through your nose and with me it was right. I just needed a chin strap to stop air escaping through my mouth
