BiPAP machine

Post by tvmangum » Fri Jul 01, 2016 2:24 pm

I have finally found a sleep doc that cares about me and not making money. I get to go next week and have yet another titration study done except this time we are looking at the possibility of a BiPAP. My current APAP (Respironics System One) doesn't have the range that I need for a good therapy. My first machine was a ResMed and I thought it was really good. When I got my APAP and it was a Respironics, I told the RT that I would try it. Turns out I love the Respironics.

Since I am probably going to have to get a BiPAP I am looking for suggestions of what to look for or request for a new machine. I like the Respironics BiPAP machine as it is Bluetooth enabled to connect with the SleepMapper app but I want to make sure that I get the best machine possible.

TIA for any suggestions or advice.
Better over the hill than under the hill--especially since my last surgery was a heart transplant on August 3, 2013.

Stick with either Respironics or ResMed for bilevel needs. Either one will serve you well. There are minor pros and cons with either but none are deal breakers or deal makers. Since you really like the way the Respironics algorithm works in apap mode...and you like the idea of blue tooth...I would suggest you stick with Respironics but if they offer you a ResMed AirCurve 10 VAuto...I bet you would do well with it also.
They are both great machines.

I think that there might be another bilevel manufacturer out there but Respironics and ResMed have always been the 2 main players in the bilevel department. Can't go wrong with either.
