I've been using my ResMed AirCurve Vauto now for a month.
At first I hated it. I could not get used to the mask and pressures and was habing a real tough time. I was miserable, even more miserable then before therapy...
But I stuck with it. After trying different masks and techniques I learned here in this board, the past week and a half something just "clicked". I sleep on my right side, my mask seal is good and my AHI is down to 2-3. I started out with 30-40 AHI when I first started therapy, so ya, huge improvement.
Now I wish I could tell you that I've noticed huge strides in Mt daily life, but I'd be lying. However , I have noticed small increments of increased energy during the day, and my blood pressure has gone down slightly (who knew?). My boss actually told me he saw a difference in my work. So things are moving up.
So if your new and struggling, don't give up. You may not get it as quick as I did, but you will. And don't expect instant improvement in your awake hours. Its just not realistic and it's bit what happens for most people. It takes a while, if not years to undo the damage that your apnea has done. Hang in there.
