They do significantly reduce my allergic rhinitis. Sometimes I even forget I have it.
How long have you been using them on your machine?
never seen someone so resistant to the idea of OEM parts.. *shaking head*

I have been using the hypoallergenic filters since I started therapy 14 months ago. As I stated earlier, I am asthmatic and have severe allergy problems. If your bedroom has allergens in it, buy a room sized hepa filter and use it. That, along with the hypoallergenic filters will give you nice, clean air to breath when being treated.

Jeez ! I really hope that I won't provoke your ire, but, these are probably as close to an ultra-fine/off the shelf PAP filter as you're ever likely to find. You want H.E.P.A. filters in a small size, check the vacuum cleaner accessory rack. Lots to be found there. A little duct tape and some Apollo ingenuity will have you in bidness in no time at all.

They say there are no dumb questions.
Can we send that one back to the jury?

As I stated earlier. I had not researched "hypoallergenic" because I am used to it, in all other products I've bought simply meaning that the materials/product itself is "allergen free". for example, hypoallergenic detergents don't fight allergens, they simply don't contain known allergens. I am in the process of reading up on the helpful links provided.

For those who insist on being ugly about it. I am asking moderators to close this thread. I truly am not physically healthy enough to deal with people intentionally asking questions and making comments, that are both intended for no other purpose than to create arguments, provoke fights, and "hijack threads".

Thank you again to all who sincerely provided helpful information.

What's a moderator?

What's ugly is that dog, and your attitude!

You know most of us have some level of not being well, but we don't use it to beat up on others in a forum we just joined to ask help from... we don't dictate to those people about how to respond to our demands!

Someone deleted my note - I had said that his attitude in thinking he could dictate to people here about how to reply to his request for help was appalling and we'll have lost nothing by his going. Being in bad physical shape is normal for so many here but we don't use it as an excuse to be nasty.

He came in with a chip on his shoulder.
He seems to be unusually fond of it.

might I suggest that you off yourself over to apneaboard, a place that cares more about your delicate feelings than they do about getting accurate information, you'll no doubt be much much happier there. they'll appreciate your whine there.

(he's probably pissed that we didn't all snap to attention and shout SIR YES SIR!)
we've got plenty of retired military folks around here, and they're not jerks about it.

A very wise old fellow, Harry Hatfield, (yes, those Hatfields) once gave me some sage advice: "Don't let people make their problems, your problems". Unless you want to.

Well, finally. Thank you for bringing this topic up. I talked with 9 people who acted like I was crazy to request HEPA filters for CPAP. How can you be in the breathing business whether as a mfr. or Doctor, nurse, specialist, etc. and not know anything or reason for a HEPA filter? That's like being in the lawn business but know nothing about fertilizer affects. Incredible. Its just another example of chase only the $$$ and not the patient or health.

How strong are the germs you want to trap? Why not stop those people that have those germs from coming into your house? Most germs in your life are around you 24/7/7, how are you going to protect yourself when not using your HEPA Filter on your XPAP. Does your heating and cooling system have HEPA filters, and are they changed when they are supposed to be? These things are way more useful than HEPA Filters on your XPAP. I to suffer from allergies, I don't have HEPA anything, I use OTC drugs before bed, (Limited), and suffer in the daytime.
