Dreamstation Pro vs Auto

Post by upstech76 » Thu Jun 09, 2016 11:23 am

I have been on a CPAP for the last 15 years and will be getting a replacement in the near future (met with Dr. today). Other than the auto feature are there any data differences in the Dreamstation Pro and the Auto? I requested the Dreamstation Auto but the Dr wasn't sure my ins would pay for it until after I have a follow-up sleep study.

Only one data detail difference.
The Pro model in cpap mode doesn't flag Flow limitations the Auto model when in Auto mode will flag Flow limitations. It's been this way for all the past fixed cpap mode models.
The Pro model does have a short term (30 days) apap trial mode though. Past models with the 30 day limited APAP could be reset up to 5 times to get more apap trial mode. I am unsure if this holds true with the new Dream Station. I haven't got the clinical manual yet to look to see what is offered.
You could request the manual here...I think it is a combo manual

Other than the flow limitation flagging and the obvious mode differences..the data collected by each model is the same.
