Sleep Apnea and Psoriasis
Sleep Apnea and Psoriasis
I was reading about psoriasis (patchy skin) and saw this article stating sleep apnea
could raise risk for psoriasis. I just developed psoriasis after using a cpap for
over 10 years. It started a few weeks ago and is progressing fast. Does anyone else
have this problem.

Thanks

Re: Sleep Apnea and Psoriasis
I think that the key line in this article is:
Getting treated for sleep apnea may be a way for patients to manage or even prevent psoriatic disease, the researchers conclude.
Your psoriasis is getting worse, yet you're treating your sleep apnea by using a cpap. I guess that this raises the question in my mind of whether you've looked at your sleep data to see how effective your therapy is? If you have, and your therapy is working well, then chances are it isn't related to sleep apnea directly. If you haven't checked in a while, this seems like a good reason to do that.
You have all my sympathy on the psoriasis, it is not fun. I have a very localized, mild form, and that's bad enough for me. I hope that you find a way to deal with it.

Agree completely!ChicagoGranny wrote:Have you seen a doctor?DeeCPAP wrote:It started a few weeks ago and is progressing fast.
Unless you have a doctor's diagnosis, it might be something else;
and delaying treatment could be serious.

Yes, seeing a doctor for something like this is the first thing to do. I had assumed that since you had a diagnosis that you had seen a doctor and were just searching around the internet to see what you could find about it. But if you haven't seen a doctor yet, make sure you get looked at by a doctor as soon as you can.

Honestly, this does NOT SOUND LIKE PSORIASIS. A friend of mine had a similar skin lesion that was CANCER.DeeCPAP wrote: . . . I just developed psoriasis after using a cpap for

Re: Sleep Apnea and Psoriasis
Who has psoriasis as bad as this one?
Bottoms of my feet are so bad!!!!!! I wanna cry
Anyone with really bad psoriasis on your feet? Omg I could die. I can't even walk most days. I wanna just die. I can't take the pain of the red itchy bottom of my feet at night and crying in bed. Then the pain of open cuts the next morning from iching them all night all. I can't take this anymore. Been on all major bio drugs and creams and meds. Now I'm doing a infusion!!! I'm only 30 years old. Every 4 weeks infusion for three hours. I'm on the fourth one and still am bad on the bottom of myfeet. Can anyone help me??? :::::(((((
Here is a post about having genital and mouth herpes:
was diagnosed in January 2015. It was determined that this was my first outbreak and didn't have it previously, but cultures came back +. I had been in a relationship with a doctor for a little over a year. He swore he didn't know he had it and promised he had not been cheating. After being diagnosed, I was devastated but thought we would stay together so didn't really deal with how I really felt. I did notice that he had an outbreak shortly after on his right upper butt cheek. I asked him about it and quickly his answer was, "it's shingles". This man is a doctor trained to diagnose the most difficult cases out there and now I find it hard to believe he didn't know he had it. Fast forward to August he started acting funny after taking me on vacation. Playing games, never really broke up with me, but two weeks after not talking to me he tells everyone at work he is engaged. I messaged him to ask if she knew about the herpes and his response was, "Yes, she knows all about you". "It's fine". No it's not fine, I have a life sentence and he doesn't care. Turns out the woman he left me for is a radiologist and I kind of doubt she knows the truth as he didn't give me the opportunity to know the truth about anything. I am now on a daily suppressive therapy Valtrex 500mg daily. Really went into a deep depression after being dumped and dealing with this disease. I found it hard enough to date before and now really don't know if I can handle talking with a potential boyfriend about this. Scared of the rejection. I would be devastated if I ever passed this on to anyone. Any advise would be greatly appreciated.

Re: Sleep Apnea and Psoriasis
Yes, it is not me.ChicagoGranny wrote:I think he is quoting someone, but doesn't kn.....
Here is another quote:
"have psoriasis on my hands. They break out and bleed. I have had NUMEROUS people ask if I was in a fight. It's ridiculous. I also had the checkout girl in the grocery store scream and make me put my money on the counter. Yes, I reported her."
And another:
I think family members and people who love us try to make us feel better by saying things like, "It doesn't look so bad...", with ALL the best intentions. Unfortunately, because we are living in our skin and THEY are NOT, it comes across like they are minimizing our condition.

Why would this matter...We know you are 100...it says so in your profile The question was about any relationship between CPAP and Psoriasis. Try to stay on topic.avi123 wrote:I had Psoriasis starting at age 18 till age 50, long before I started CPAP.DeeCPAP wrote: Does anyone else
