Cpap machine noises

Post by Noclue » Wed May 18, 2016 12:07 pm

Why is my machine making a noise like water is in the tube every time I breathe? I just got new tubes. Can this be the reason? Or do I not have enough water in the humidifier chamber? This has never happened before!

Is your machine placed at a higher level than you and your mask? If so, put it on something lower so water will run back to it instead of to you.

IS THERE WATER IN YOUR HOSE?
If so, that would be a clue as to why it sounds that way.
Too high of a humidity setting can cause "rainout" (warm water vapor condensing back into liquid when it cools in the hose).
Turn your humidity setting down, put the machine lower than your sleeping position, cover the hose with a cloth hose cover to retain more heat, or get a heated hose.

Sometimes when I filled the tank full and turned on the machine on before I put on the mask it would force a small amount of water into the hose and it made a growling sound.

My machine is lower than I am, so it's not that!! When I checked the hose, it is WET...so yes, somehow water is getting into the hose, I don't know how!! I am going to check the humidity level tonight, and try to lower it if I can, and then I am going to put LESS water in the chamber and see if that works! Thanks for your suggestions! Just trying to get to the bottom of why this is happening!! New mask ( not a new brand) and new tubes as of 3 days ago, and this happens...hmmm...we'll see!!

ever get a can of soda out of the fridge and notice that it gets wet on the outside?

that's how water is getting into your hose, only the can of soda is the whole room, and the air is what's coming from the machine.... the hose is cooler than the warm moist air from the machine and so water condenses on the inside of the hose.

Does the new tubing look the same as the old? ClimateLine tubing is darker than SlimLine and it has a wire inside that heats the tube. That keeps water vapor from turning to droplets on the inside. If the problem started after replacing the tubing, that is where I would look.

Den...
Thank you thank you thank you!! My humidity temp. Was too high. I had it on 6. When I put it back to 4, no more problems! I am going to look into a cover for my hose, though! My new hose is darker than my original, and a little longer, which I LOVE!
