Why am I doing this?
Why am I doing this?
I've used the CPAP machine from day 1 without missing a night. I am comfortable with the mask, etc. I sleep from 6.5 hours to 8.5 hours every night with no problem. All that is good. Now the question: My initial sleep test showed my AHI was 9. My AHI since using the machine: 30 days: 11.9; last night 10.2. The pressures have been adjusted with the advice of my doctor from the initial 4 min 8 max to the present (last 3 nights) to 9 min 20 max. Changing pressure seems to make no difference. Nothing so far seems to make any difference. So why am I doing this? Why not drop the CPAP and just sleep unaided with my AHI of 9? That's better than with the CPAP.

Without seeing some data from your machine, it's impossible to make recommendations. Download Sleepyhead software.

Thanks LSAT. Didn't know I could do that on my machine. I'm in the process now. Will post the info when I have it.

Re: Why am I doing this?
The AHI of 9 from the sleep test was taken from the worst night of sleep that you ever had, and you probably never got into REM sleep ( when most people have the most trouble).
Now that you are using the cpap , you are getting into a deeper sleep and having more apneas ... and needing more pressure.
My sleep test showed an AHI of 5, but it went over 20 with the cpap, now after adjusting and getting the right mask for me it is usually 0.0 and I wake without an alarm and feel refreshed.

If you're not part of the solution you're just scumming up the bottom of the beaker!

Welcome aboard Bluetrout. Here’s a grab-bag of Sleepyhead software goodies, plus links that show which SH info we need and how to get that info to show correctly in your CPAPtalk post:

I like my ResMed AirFit F10 FFM - reasonably low leaks for my ASV therapy. I'm currently using a PR S1 AutoSV 960P Advanced. I also keep a ResMed S9 Adapt as backup. I use a heated Hibernite hose. Still rockin' with Win 7 by using GWX to stop Win 10.
Re: Why am I doing this?
Thanks all for the help. I've downloaded SleepyHead and my info is there..I can see it...but I'm trying to figure out how to bring the chart to this site. Working on reading the guides/tips.

Re: Why am I doing this?
This will help...step by step To Organize Graphs, To Take Screan Shots, and Post to Imgur
Here, in order, will show you how to take sleephead images and post them to Cpaptalk .com:
https://sleep.tnet.com/resources/sleepyhead/shorganize
https://sleep.tnet.com/resources/sleepy ... screenshot
https://sleep.tnet.com/reference/tips/imgur
When posting Daily Detailed Data, the most important things to include in the screenshot are:
1) The Left Sidebar with all the summary data. (Turn off the Pie Chart so that we can see the statistical data for the leak rate and the pressure. Minimize the calendar. And turn off the Right Sidebar)
2) The event table at the top of the graphs.
3) The flow rate graph
4) The pressure graph when you use Auto
5) The leak graph
EDIT TO FIX LINK
