Software for M Series Pro

Post by jskinner » Mon Aug 28, 2006 4:59 pm

I'm going to be upgading to a M Series Pro tomorrow and being a geek I now of course want to be able to read the data off the machine myself.

It seems like there are three things that I will need?
1. A smart card reader
2. The Encore Pro software
3. MyEncore utility

Does a smart card reader come with the Encore Pro software package? Where is the cheapest place to buy this software? I noticed that many user are buying there smart card reader separately from 2factor is this cheaper?

What else do I need to get setup? Seems like from some of the posts that installation can be a bit tricky?

thanks, -James

1. INFINEER DT3500 Card Reader

2. The Encore Pro software Version 1.6i, from cpap.com $99 ** with reader $170

3. MyEncore utility Version 15b7

The 2 Factors site reader is $30.80, but they don't make it easy..

Make sure your new "M"agic has full data, and the card. Jim

Get it all in one package and avoid the hassles.

And, when you get it, you can download the MyEncore from here.

What kind of problems does one experience ordering from 2 Factors, seems like a good way to save a few bucks?

The site is Strange, requires Paypal, only uses IE, requires Registation.

As far as results, they deliver, and fast. Just now user friendly site. Jim

If you don't mind jumping through hoops, you can save $38, I can jump a few, as long as they are on the internet.

You might get two, everyone needs backup, I wasn't smart had to order twice the backup a couple of months later, it would have been better to get two at once.

I am using the Respironics Resmed auto. I am thinking of upgrading to the M series but I am very sensitive to noises, in the mask as well as to the machine. Could you tell me when you get your machine tomorrow if you feel it is noisy.

Thanks

The actual price of the DT3500 to the USA is $31.80. they only accept PayPal as payment, when you order select Hong Kong Postal delivery, they forward to US Postal Service and it arrives in your mail box in about a week.

If you have a PayPal account, just order on-line and they take you right to PayPal site with invoice where you can send the $31.80 to 2 factors.

I agree with everything Snoredog reported.

However, I ordered my reader in the beginning of August, and paid for it immediately using PayPal (the only option). Though I got three e-mails from them updating status, it took them a week to actually send it to the HK Post Office. I got an e-mail with a tracking number that allowed me to see that the package actually left HK. Then nothing for almost two weeks. I e-mailed them an inquired and did get a prompt reply saying that they would try to track it, but nothing since. It finally arrived about two weeks after it was mailed from HK.

I will say that this occured around the time of the London plane bomb scare, which may have slowed everything, especially international packages, down.

However, the Infineer reader installed and performed flawlessly since, using the Respironics driver link that two-Factor has on their web-site. And I find EncorePro and MyEncore to be INVALUABLE.

Hope this helps.

I don't think you will find one quieter than the one you have, because Respironics doesn't make Resmed, Resmeds are made by another company, (as in Brand), to supply the Brick & Mud DME's Jim
