Re: pillows
Do you sleep on the edge of your current pillow with the front of your mask over the edge? Is the height of your current pillow such that your spine remains straight without your neck bent up or down? That's the way I sleep with my FFM and it works well - no specialized pillow needed.
Re: pillows
I bought one of these: https://www.contourliving.com/contour-cpap-pillow/
and really like it. Even though I use a nasal mask, I tend to sleep with my face turned very slightly toward the pillow, so the cut-outs do help. Many of the reviews said it wasn't a tall enough pillow, and I found it to be just a bit too short at the front (neck) edge, so I opened the zipper case and added a thin layer of foam under the front half of the pillow. Works great now.

I use a Buckwheat Hulls CPAP Pillow. I like it very much.

Re: pillows
Any pillow will work if you learn how to sleep on it. If you lay on your side, sleep on the edge of the pillow with your mask hanging off the side. If you are a restless sleeper any pillow may be a problem when you turn from side to side. I personally use the buckwheat hull pillow with my FF mask. It is a very firm pillow so you do not sink in...you lie on top.

Re: pillows
I love the one I have at the bottom of my signature, which is buckwheat and shredded foam.
Not as hard as plain buckwheat, just a little bit of give.
It came overfilled, with a nice quilted tick and a zipper.
The excess is in a bag for when it crushes down to where I need to put a little back.
I haven't had to yet; it was new in June last year.

Re: pillows
I have a completely buckwheat hull pillow that I use off and on, would that be as effective as the special one that is posted earlier? Or does that one have something special to it?

Re: pillows
Kritoke: you already use the pillow. If you like it, that's all you need.
Buckwheat is shapeable to fit your head and your mask, and is cool in summer.
You are already "there".

Re: pillows
I have one of these, but since I've started using it I'm getting more leaks with my Swift FX nasal pillows. I'm not sure why. Possibly the hardness of the pillow is causing me to move my head around more.chunkyfrog wrote:I love the one I have at the bottom of my signature, which is buckwheat and shredded foam.

Re: pillows
I had that problem with the all-buckwheat pillow. Too firm for me.
Even bret's hybrid is still not as soft as my old softie fiberfill I used to use.
We all have our own preference. Start with what worked before cpap, you might have the right one already.

Re: pillows
I have a couple of pillows that I like. One is the papillow from CPAP.com. That one works well with the Elan soft mask (and others, as well). The other is a Tempurpedic neck pillow, that isn't as good with the Elan, but works well with the Swift FX and AirFit P10. If I were to pick just one of these two, it would be the papillow.
There have been several other pillows that I've tried that were too firm for me. While I don't like a soft pillow, too firm also doesn't work for me. I had a contour-style pillow that was too firm, and another that never lost a very strong memory foam pad smell.
Pillows are very personal, and each one plays differently with CPAP equipment, so just try some and find one or two that you like. The right pillow for you can really make a positive difference in your CPAP and sleeping experience.

Re: pillows
Thank you for all of the suggestions.
I guess I'll just have to figure out what's good for me

Re: pillows
While I'm a little late to the party, I give a triple big plus to the CPAP-Fit Pillow. I have a total of 3 of these puppies. My wife, a non-CPAPer, liked it so much that I had to get her one. The other two I use so I can roll a longer distance before falling off. I'm a side sleeper and this pillow doesn't compress thus pushing on the mask from the uncompressed portion.

Re: pillows
I'm going to take a little more buckwheat hull out of mine and add some shredded foam, until I get it the way I want it. The Swift FX headgear has a semi-firm plastic head band, and the problem seems to be that the CPAP-fit pillow, even at 75% full, is still firm enough to cause the headgear to deform a bit...enough to cause leaks. I think I just need to find the sweet spot, in terms of filling and firmness.
