I just don't remember, I was thinking Rooster used to post them and about mid 2007 around the time of the big Resmed Recall and the M Series leaky integrated humidifier debacle. Or maybe it was SnoreDog.

Anyone else remember someone posting a Resmed on fire and a Respironics M Series peeing the fire out?

Slinky, I started my search for the leaking M Series/flaming ResMed in the topics here:

LINKS to topics about recall of resmed S8 machines

An interesting example from all those threads:
May 02, 2007 4:31 am Post subject: Corporate responsibility and misplaced perceptions. topic started by dsm
viewtopic.php?t=19637

Working on through more of the topics ... voila'! DreamStalker posted... not quite THE picture you're asking about, but another funny one. This one isn't the M series doing the extinguishing, but this was a classic...
viewtopic.php?p=175247#p175247

Side note: Some of those threads are a bit hard to follow. Snoredog is no longer with us, nor is his website where he stored a trove of the pictures referred to in his posts. And some of the posters, notably dsm and GoofyUT, edited out a lot of their own remarks. Bits and pieces of their comments remain as quotes in other's posts - enough to give a glimpse into what they were revising out.

Never a dull moment on the good old message board!

Ya got me, goofproof. And I don't have an M Series to pee on the to put it fire out either. Ah well. The S9s are coming. And the PRS1s are coming and the M Series and S8 IIs will be history. Just memory blips on the silicon chip of life. And we will miss them - briefly.

April Fools Jokes Aside, my S9 did catch on fire.. Well let's put this way, it melted down for you can smell melting plastic is what I can smell in my mouth and I woke up tasting that. I called last night and they said oh well tough luck the machine - 5 years old what do you expect. Talk to my medical equipment company they said the same thing. Thank God this thing won't me up otherwise it would have caught on fire fire..

That just sounds like your humidifier was dry. You can always try replacing the disposable parts- filters, hose, mask, tank, before calling it quits on the machine.

MyS9 Autoset was still running at 4.5 years, but a wee bit noisy, and wonky data--when I replaced it.

---Five years. Considering what these machines do, and all the hours they do it;
I have got to give some credit for building these things as well as they do. And how we need them.
Compare that to what the cellphone and tablet market gets away with,
---often for similar prices, or worse!
