On this forum, 99% of sleep techs have given the other 1% a bad name.

Welcome! Sometimes we do have questions that a sleep tech can answer, so it will be nice to have you aboard.

This board is for empowered patients, though. There's a lot of expertise among many of our veteran members, so we can usually answer the questions that come up. As long as you are open and respectful of our members, I hope we will be the same to you.

Well thank you for having me! I am a trained DME supplier also so I'm pretty knowledgeable about a lot of the machines and masks.

Warning! Many of the regular members here have successfully tried/done things that our
respective DME techs would condemn. Can you handle that?
We don't always color inside the lines; we rip the tags off pillows and mattresses;
and sometimes we OPEN machines and do unauthorized service/modification.

Nice to know, and not unwelcome, but again, we're pretty good at that as well. Let's see how it goes.

Oh boy! DME's are even less popular around here than sleep techs. So you're going to have to grow a thick skin.

Look out, we bite!

Also, I know that patients have lots of trouble dealing with DME companies locally here in Las Vegas, ex poor customer service, not giving patients much selection of masks and machines, and not properly explaining how CPAP equipment and masks work. As a tech I've heard a lot of horror stories of people dealing with DME companies.

HST

I'm in Henderson, and have used Bennett and now Preferred.

Have nothing bad to say about either one. Although I did have to do some talking to get Preferred away from giving me a brick. After they saw I was knowledgeable they have been good. And after I got a different prescription...☺

Are you with either one of those?

John
