mhmm....

there could be some significance to not saying "have your DME raise the pressure"...
Not sure what you mean by that, palerider. Also, you're posting some things I believed when I was younger and more naive.

By the way, please tell me how to use the CPAP to make cotton candy. Because I just KNOW it can. And I want to find out how to do it, because I'm just such an "I can" type of guy

if you ever choose to try and learn anything related to positive airway pressure devices, and how they behave, and how to optimize your treatment, let me know... till then. *shrug*

If you look at your time over leak red line on the left side of your Sleepyhead it is 0.741% of over 7 1/2 hrs of sleep. That's just a few minutes. You really didn't have a significant amount of large leak that effects data. Now the smaller leaks might be waking you up and disturbing your sleep. Sometimes as we get used to everything we almost reposition the mask in our sleep. One thing you might try to help with the leaks is during the day place your tongue at the roof of your mouth with the tip just behind your teeth and breath in and out through your nose. It will create a vacumn where you can't breath out through your mouth. Try it. Some prople have found by doing this they have learned to sleep that way and decreased their mouth leaks. I would be careful about tightening your chin strap too tight because it can pull your jaw back and make the apnea worse or give you problems with TMJ.

On that screenshot the leaks don't look to be a big problem. So I would go with the minimun pressure increase recommend and try it for a few days.
Good to know the leak is not so bad. I think that report was from an unusually non-leaky night, although last night had low leaks as well. It's a good trend, and I hope it keeps going. Yeah the small leaks do wake me up sometimes I think, or at least when I wake up I'm aware of them.

Interesting with the tongue idea. Yeah, that would be great if I could teach myself that, and not have my sleep self forget it I've tried just using "affirmations" to keep my mouth closed, but this is better as it's a physical action, so it involves muscle memory that can kick in. Speaking of tongues, mine is rather long, and I've read that it can be a factor in making apnea worse.

Good point about the chin strap. That would be defeating the purpose if I pulled the jaw back and gave myself worse apnea. Thanks oky-doky!

Oh dear. palerider, get help soon. I know you're better than this. It's a joke, and I thought an appropriate one to your over-reaction.

the problem with talking to a brick wall is that it really gets you nowhere.
palerider, Again, I had asked you for that information on changing the pressure myself, and apparently I committed the cardinal sin of not knowing I could do that beforehand, thus you're stigmatizing me? This is hilarious.

February 17, at 8:51, palerider. It's right there. I said it. I asked for that information. You just jumped the gun, my friend, and assumed the worst. because it's more fun to go on a rant than carefully read someone's response and respond appropriately. Remember you told me not to ASS-UME? Well, tell it to the mirror.

couple things, first, learn to quote so your posts aren't just general statements and are more directed back to an individual, and second, you might notice your question was answered, in the next post, so, what exactly are you bitching about?

whatevs, as they say, you prefer to play the class clown... knock yourself out. I'm past tired of entertaining you.

Do you really want me to quote your posts? If I were you, maybe I'd be grateful if there was no evidence But seriously, after just learning that , no "mea culpa" from you? Like this is somehow my fault because I didn't quote it? Which is absolutely a ludicrous excuse especially since you reposted me from that very post later on (and then deleted it)!

Well, yes, it was in the next post, but I didn't notice it because I was expecting it from you. Well, it's good to have it. But then again I never complained in the first place. That bitching noise you heard was coming from your own mouth.

You were on quite a roll tonight..it was entertaining, because it was crystal-clear to me this time that I had no transgressions that deserved even a small amount of rebuke. You were the class clown more than I was. Now if you only intended it to funny...oh well. Have a good evening

mea culpa, mea culpa,
mea máxima culpa.

you actually DID ask someone for instructions on how to set your machine,
and someone answered...

you'd be wise to pay attention to what OkyDoky says, she gives good advice.

again, should you ever want to learn things, instead of entertaining the crowd by engaging in silly arguments, do speak up. I'll attempt to not be drawn into the silly arguing anymore, since I think it's a waste of time.

again, mea culpa, mea culpa,
mea máxima culpa.

Apology accepted.

As for the silly arguments, my arguments regarding CPAP with you have been over serious matters. There's a much better way to educate, and it's to have a more respectful tone. Such as---don't call them silly arguments. Although I've learned more what I don't know, so my speculation and arguments will have to become more sophisticated now. But still--I think my questions have been valid for a newbie.

Oh yes--OkyDoky is great, no doubt. I appreciate her comments. I never said no one answered me--geesh. I just missed that last line of hers somehow. Other than that time I overlooked the link, I've listened and responded to her attentively, which is not something you're really in a position to criticize in others right now

nothing about PAP operation, theory, or therapy optimization, nothing to help out with here.

Yeah, I am interested in those things, of course. My speculating so far have been concerning mask leak and AHI correlation, and perhaps I was considering them in isolation, without considering the other elements you mention. But I'm a newbie, so I forgive myself
