I just got off the phone with him. It is an Airsense 10 Auto. He said his grandson only used it a few times and gave up.
I don't need one, but this could be a great deal, mask included. Do I get a finder's fee

So that's an Airsense 10 Autoset (for him) for $200. Not bad at all!
This xxxxxxx[edit this is a 950P not a 960P edit ]xxxxxxxx Auto SV Advanced might be good for the $200, but as always ask a lot of questions, never know!

oh, my eyes deceive me again! That looked like a grey face plate on it. Yep, as Palerider says it is an inferior prototype and a predecessor to the 960P.

er, I didn't claim it was an inferior prototype, anymore than I'd say the 2010 chevy corvette was a defective prototype of the 2013 chevy corvette.klv329 wrote:Yep, as Palerider says it is an inferior prototype....
it's just the older model, missing a few design revisions and a new feature (the heated hose capability)

Here's the big problem with the series 950 autoSVs.palerider wrote:older, more reported failures, no heated tube available.Hornnumb2 wrote:I checked on that one its a 950p, not sure what the difference is?

Still, not a bad deal if you're aware of the issues and can do the fix, which is simply bypassing the pin connector with some wires. There's always the heated after-market Hibernite hose to substitute for a PR heated hose... I use one and it works fine.
Anyway, let the buyer beware: Use PayPal and get pics sent to you before sending money.

I like my ResMed AirFit F10 FFM - reasonably low leaks for my ASV therapy. I'm currently using a PR S1 AutoSV 960P Advanced. I also keep a ResMed S9 Adapt as backup. I use a heated Hibernite hose. Still rockin' with Win 7 by using GWX to stop Win 10.

I seem to remember seeing reports of that same problem with the 60 series too...Sir NoddinOff wrote:Here's the big problem with the series 950 autoSVs.palerider wrote:older, more reported failures, no heated tube available.Hornnumb2 wrote:I checked on that one its a 950p, not sure what the difference is?

Yeah Palerider, I do recall last summer hearing a few reports of that blackened/burnt Molex connector problem with the PR 960s (and not just the autoSV models). It worried me because I'd previously used PR's 'classic mode' humidification for a couple of months (more and constant power to the humidifier for max water vapor). I was somewhat worried about those scorching reports. That said, I wasn't worried enough to open my autoSV 960 case and check the Molex pin connectors. This was mostly because at about the time those reports came out I'd discontinued using 'classic mode'. As a precaution, never-the-less, I was always on the alert for any burning plastic smell when using the machine at night... that's the dead giveaway. I never had cause to trespass into the forbidden warranty voiding zone to check for burnt Molex connectors ... luckily everything has been fine since.palerider wrote:I seem to remember seeing reports of that same problem with the 60 series too...Sir NoddinOff wrote:Here's the big problem with the series 950 autoSVs.palerider wrote:older, more reported failures, no heated tube available.Hornnumb2 wrote:I checked on that one its a 950p, not sure what the difference is?

having opened one up, I believe that as long as you're moderately careful, and don't go all 800 pound gorilla on it, there's no way they can tell it's been opened up... two t15 screws and pop off the knob. slide all the connectors back and forth a bit to clean up the contacts, and the pop the cover back on.Sir NoddinOff wrote: I never had cause to trespass into the forbidden warranty voiding zone to check for burnt Molex connectors ... luckily everything has been fine since.
I didn't see any "warranty void if removed" kind of stickers or anything, not even any snap together parts that might break.

Re: On Craigslist, Resmed Airsense 10/ with mask $200
Funny story: I just bought a new i5 ASUS desktop cuz I wanted to customize my computer setup. When it arrived I turned around the case and saw a big sticker across the back seam that said the warranty would be voided if the sticker was broken or removed. IOW, it's a no-no to get inside to access the bus slots!!! What the f**k? That's why people buy desktops so they can put in fancy video cards, extra HDs etc. That's like putting a sticker across a door in a new car and saying 'warranty void' if broken.palerider wrote:having opened one up, I believe that as long as you're moderately careful, and don't go all 800 pound gorilla on it, there's no way they can tell it's been opened up... two t15 screws and pop off the knob. slide all the connectors back and forth a bit to clean up the contacts, and the pop the cover back on.Sir NoddinOff wrote: I never had cause to trespass into the forbidden warranty voiding zone to check for burnt Molex connectors ... luckily everything has been fine since.

With some Goop-Off solvent I managed to peel the sticker off intact and can reapply it with some contact cement later on if needs be. Anyway, I shouldn't have to do that. BTW, I bought the desktop computer from B&H in NYC.
