I think I will leave this as it is for the time being. When I posted my question, I did not think I had a proper cold but something caused by the settings, but now I know I do.
Last night I put the Hybernite on and set the humidifier to 5. I have not yet tried the classic settings. The result of this was that I woke up scarcely able to breathe and with a lot of phlegm in my throat and mouth. After that I went back to no Hybernite, setting 4.
I intend to try Hybernite with the classic settings next time I use it.
I realized recently that my machine may have a heated tube, but I could not find that when I was first given it. Maybe I have the earlier model. The Sleepyhead readout says '60 Series'.
At the moment, with the cold probably getting better, it is not easy to analyse the settings with so many variables. I need to read up on Sleepyhead so I can get more out of the figures. I can't see much wrong with the last nights, but 19 January was the last night I slept through.
Many thanks for all the help as always.

If you do have the 560, you can use this upgrade kit to use the heated hose. It requires a lid change, others have said it was easy, a 80watt power supply and the heated tubing. They all come it the kit. https://www.cpap.com/productpage/pr-hea ... e-kit.html
Sleepyhead is usually right on the machines but if you do have the 560 it should say that somewhere on the bottom of the part that has the screen on it. It may also include a couple of letters. Just remove water before turning over.
Hope you get over your cold soon.

It really doesn't say it anywhere on the blower - I photographed it all on my phone. I now thought to change my profile, and my equipment isn't exactly listed there. It is called Auto A-Flex, not C-Flex. Maybe it's the System One REMstar 60 CPAP Auto machine with A-Flex. I am not in the USA. It would be really expensive to get the heated hose, judging from the http://www.eu-pap.co.uk site I would use to buy it from. If I really wanted the heated hose I would pay the money, but I have stopped using the Hybernite one.
