First night with DreamWear went Ok

Post by bryansong » Tue Jan 26, 2016 11:38 am

That is very encouraging to me because I needed to find a new mask. I don't want to get too excited until I know for sure,
but I am hoping it's the one.

I just had my first night too. I chose the wrong size cushion ( changed in the middle of the night), and didn't get the headgear fastened right. Switched back to my P10 at 5:00 am when I couldn't get back to sleep. Then, this morning, I played with it, and got it to fit much better. I measured the volume on the mask. It is only 75 ml ( the size of a typical snorkel). If one side is squished, it will be even smaller. If you bury the nose vent, you won't suffocate because the vent on top of your head should do the job. I am looking forward to trying again tonight.

I do tend to bury my nose vent at times so I am glad there is some exhaust on the swivel. I hope you get it figured out as well as myself.
I was worried I couldn't get past the tubes being so close to my eye and while is isn't ideal and I'd rather not have that I did find I was able to get to sleep.
I hope that becomes a total non issue for me. My numbers (display) looked good this morning.

One thing I learned is that the headgear is supposed to hold the frame as far up on the slope of your head as it will comfortably go. In this case, a little more snug is better. Also, you have to find the ideal position on the back of your head, and depending on your head shape, you may need to turn the headgear upside down to get it to fit comfortably. The biggest obstacle I had was that the little cardboard thing said I needed a medium cushion when I really needed a small.

Are you using the medium size frame (not the cushion, but the frame that the hose and headgear attach to) that came with the fit pack? If it is close to your eyes, you may need to get the large size frame. It should sit about midway between your ears and your eyes.

Thanks for the feedback. I just went ahead and ordered the large frame hoping it fits.

Thanks again,

Bryan

I just got my large frame. It definitely fits better now.

I was so hopeful that the Dreamwear mask would be the answer to compliance for me but I have had problems (discussed on here) of the headgear riding up the back of my head during the night.

Love that it is so light weight and all but I have been having too many sleep disruptions because of the headgear. I just got the smaller frame to try but it is definitely too small (much too close to my eyes as discussed above).

Wishing you the best of luck. Color me jealous if it works for you.

Wishing you the best of luck also. Thanks! Sorry you're having trouble but I could definitely see that happening.
I just got my large frame yesterday and used it last night and I think it went Ok but I should know more after a few nights.
The jury is still out for me but I will say it's better for me than a lot of the others I've tried. I've got a several that I don't like.
