need to change to FF mask

Post by lmn » Sun Aug 20, 2006 7:54 pm

Need some advise about Full Face masks. I have been using the Swift and the Comfort Gel masks and taping my mouth as well. I have had serious nasal congestion and cannot breath from either side of my nose when I lay down. I can tell that sometimes I am fiting the tape as I have broken it loose from one side of my mouth several times.

Mean while back to my question..what FF mask would be best for a woman with a very small face. I wear a Comfort Gel petite because it is the smallest mask I can get...even the Swift is just wide enough that it moves around with my pillow.

I have been looking at the Hans Rudolph as it has small sizes or the Hybrid but am afraid the shell will be too large. Most people seem to prefer the Ultra Mirage FF but am afraid even the small will be too big.

Any help will be appreciated.

Measure for a Mask

I have never used a full face mask, just interfaces such as the Swift, ComfortLite, and ComfortLite 2.

However, CPAP.com has a guide to measuring the various features of your face. After entering all of the measurements, a list of the best masks for your particular face appears on the screen.

In my experience, this isn't always the only list of masks with which you are compatible. There may be one or two NOT listed that would work better, but at least this is a starting point.

Lmn,
I fit patients for a living. I suggest UMFF, HC431 or the Hybrid. My vote is for the Hybrid.

Hi,

I have a Fisher and Paykel 431 Full face, and I think it is great! It comes with a small medium and large cushion, i think one would work for you.

I second salmon's endorsement of the Fischer & Paykel FlexiFit HC431 full-face mask. Mine works fine, and comes with 3 cushions... the "small" might work great for you. And unlike the hybrid, you have only one seal to worry about (for leaks, etc.), not three seals of two different types.
