FullLife Full Face CPAP Mask
Hello All
Right now, I use a Quattro FX face mask which fits okay. I can buy a replacement cushion for a little over $50.00 or...
I can try a new mask that costs a lot less. It is called a FullLife Full Face. So-so reviews. My main question is about the chin strap. Will it make my mouth stay closed?
I hope not because I have to breathe through my mouth, as my nose is ALWAYS stuffy.
Any feedback about the chin strap will be greatly appreciated.

what would your mask choice have to do with your chinstrap choice? Perhaps I am confused by your question.

Re: FullLife Full Face CPAP Mask
It says the FullLife Full Face CPAP Mask has an extra chin strap to keep it from riding up, but I want to make sure that the chin strap doesn't push my chin up to make my mouth stay shut on purpose. I would suffocate since I can't breathe though my nose.OKCSleepDoc wrote:what would your mask choice have to do with your chinstrap choice? Perhaps I am confused by your question.
All of my other full face masks never had an extra chin strap.
Here is a picture of the mask in question:

By looking at the price, I'd say this mask is being discontinued. I don't see any way that it would hold your chin up so you could not open your mouth. I really don't think the strap goes under the chin. If you order the mask and like it, you may not be able to get it again.

True, but if I do like it and can keep my mouth open I could always stockpile several masks due to the cheap price.LSAT wrote:By looking at the price, I'd say this mask is being discontinued. Blue Cross won't pay for my supplies anymore because they are money-grubbing #$%^&*^%$% !
Re: FullLife Full Face CPAP Mask
I had one a while ago. There is nothing about it that will prevent mouth breathing. It's kind of a pain to put on and to get adjusted, but it did work okay for me. The cushion tended to "jump" on exhale, that was a little too disconcerting for me to tolerate. If you do like it, I'd suggest buyin' up a load of them while you can, they're headed the way of the Dodo bird as far as I can tell. I found that I really do well with the F10. Good luck. I have Carefirst/BC/BS and they pay approx. 75%-80% of my durable medical equipment costs. Sounds like your plan needs to be upgraded a little. (if possible)

The chinstrap is part of the headgear.OKCSleepDoc wrote:what would your mask choice have to do with your chinstrap choice? Perhaps I am confused by your question.

Re: FullLife Full Face CPAP Mask
I own this mask as a backup in case I catch a cold and can't breathe through my nose. Earlier this winter I used it for about a week. The chinstrap did not keep my mouth shut; in fact, if I tried to keep my mouth shut, the mask would leak like crazy.
Heads up though ... my DME told me this is a discontinued mask and that's why CPAP.com has it at such a deep discount. Might want to check with the manufacturer first.
ETA: I have the Small and Large cushions (unopened) as I got the full fit kit when I bought mine. If you want to trade for some others I'm game: At my house, we use Small or Medium AirFit P10 pillows, Small Swift FX pillows, and Medium Mirage FX nasal mask cushions, so would trade any of those for the Small & Large FullLife cushions.

Thanks for the input. I ordered one with my new machine and will soon see how it works for me.Gasper62 wrote:I had one a while ago. There is nothing about it that will prevent mouth breathing. My Blue Cross Plan (which I pay for in its entirety because I don't qualify for any subsidies under the Affordable Health Care Act) is the Silver Plus. It costs a fortune and still has a deductible of almost 3500.00. Basically, they don't pay for any durable medical equipment until you spend 3500.00 out of pocket. Then they kick in at 80% IF I get a new sleep study every year and make a yearly appointment with the sleep specialist. Did I mention I would have to pay for the sleep study and specialist visit out of pocket because it is less than the deductible? It is a total racket. I already spend 9000.00 a year for the policy and only get a yearly physical and mammogram for free. Highway robbery in a nutshell.
Thank goodness my primary issued me a prescription for the cpap machine and supplies which I can buy at cpap.com for a fraction of what Blue Cross would charge me if I purchased them through their approved vendors. Did I mention it was a racket?
I feel better now.
