Overnight Pulse Oximeter for Mac/apple/iphone

Post by alex_fergus » Sun Jan 10, 2016 7:49 pm

Hi All.
I'm looking for a basic pulse oximeter that records data (so I can use it overnight).

I like the CMS-50F

But the only issue is that I only have a mac computer and a apple iphone.

Will this sync with my mac computer?

Do I even need a computer to get the data (I just want to see what my O2 levels do overnight).

Could I sync the CMS-50F to the ContecMed PHMS Iphone app?

If not, is there another device that would be suitable?

Thanks

No, those won't work with Macs... not unless you install Bootcamp or Parallels (I used the 1st one) in your machine to access Windows, then you can use it except the little disc is too small for the Mac's window, so you'd need a diff. drive if you wanted to use it.

Ok thanks.

So I've just been speaking to the people at Contec Med and they said the CMS 50D+ (bluetooth) will sync to the PHMS app.

I've downloaded and setup the app on my iphone and it works fine (they didn't know it was available on iphone).

So I'm thinking I could use the 50D+ and sync to my iphone.

Does anyone:
1) Have experience doing this?
2) Have experience with the PHMS app (and how useful is it to see O2 levels from a nights sleep)
3) Have the CMS 50D+ and an iphone and could possibly test this out for me before I buy a unit?

Thanks

Sorry this should be the 50E + BT model (not the 50D)

Hi.

Does anyone know if this model - FL300 Bluetooth Pulse oximeter for iPhones/Android - records data overnight?
The description shoes 30hours continuous use - but I think thats for battery life.

It has an iphone app.

The reviews on amazon are terrible.

I never thought it would be so hard to find a pulse oximeter that syncs to an iphone

Hi.
Just a question regarding this, is it possible to download the file from the PO onto a mac computer and then email it to a PC computer? Or does the mac computer not even recognise the file?

Thanks

there's no file to download, it's stored in the memory, and transferred, serial over usb, to software that interprets it, and can then write a file that can be redisplayed later...

you can use the contec and a couple other brands on a mac, by using sleepyhead to transfer the data over.

So I'll give you the context, I am a health coach. I want to screen all my clients for sleep apnea. The first step is to record a few nights sleep, if it looks less than ideal then they go to a sleep specialist.

I want them to buy a device that they can use to record their oxygen saturation levels over night for a few nights. Then I want them to either look at the data themselves, or send it to me to review.
The only thing is that most of my clients on have mac computers.

So would it be possible for them to somehow send the data to me via email? Or is this simply not possible?

overnight oximitry is not a valid screening for apnea, as to your repeated question, it's already been answered.

maybe you could bribe jedimark to make a standalone version of the contec data importer that's in sleepyhead, or you could find something someone else has done. I don't know about macs, and don't *want* to know about macs... or windows, for that matter.
