Restless sleep with a CPAP
Restless sleep with a CPAP
I recently got a Fitbit and the first night i slept with it without my CPAP i was restless 6 times, well I wore my CPAP last night to see if it would reduce my restlessness and it more than doubled it to 15 times restless, so is the CPAP initially not helping me or should i keep trying it to see if my restlessness gets better?
Re: Restless sleep with a CPAP
Keep trying and come back in 3 months and let us know if things have improved.

Welcome to the forum!
You might want to consider registering for the forum and filling out your equipment profile so members can better tailor their responses to your situation. When were you diagnosed and what specific problems are you having with the machine such as mask issues, breathing against the pressure, etc.? Give a much details as you can so we help you adjust to the therapy.
To answer your question, yeah, it may seem like you sleep better without the machine. But you will pay the price health wise for doing that.
Good luck to you.

Are you cranky because of the play of your Packers?

PS - And before you attack the 49ers, I am not a 49ers fan even though that is my screen name. Didn't feel like changing it.

You are right...Packers are not helping my disposition at all. However, my comments were because it sounds like after a just couple nights of restlessness he is thinking of stopping CPAP therapy. He doesn't think it's helping.49er wrote:LSAT,LSAT wrote:Keep trying and come back in 3 months and let us know if things have improved.

Is "Restless" a new scientific symptom of sleep apnea ?
If you're not part of the solution you're just scumming up the bottom of the beaker!

Re: Restless sleep with a CPAP
I've been using CPAP almost 4 months now, and after the initial getting-used-to-it phase, my Fitbit shows that I'm rarely restless at night. Prior to CPAP, the Fitbit graph was terrible. Now I rarely, rarely have to get up at night or even wake up. Love it!
Now if I could consistently get my AHI down. But it's slowly coming down, and that's another story for another time.
