gabapentin and sleep apnea

I have been diagnosed with sleep apnea and have been on a CPAP machine for 6 months successfully. Recently have been prescribed gabapentin for a nerve disorder. What are the possible complications?

I've been on Gabapentin for the last couple of years and don't know of any problems.

My husband experienced very dry mouth and some dental issues as a result. I would guess that may be more problematic with CPAP. He gave up taking it because of dental issues.

Was on Gabapentin for about four months. CPAP numbers were fine-- but it gave me a horrible hangover and really tired me out, so I begged my doctor to come up with an alternative. Your experience may differ.

My sleep doc (also a board certified neurologist) gave me gabapentin for restless legs. I've been using it since Feb. 2009 with no problems.

I started having horrible dry mouth and throat but never suspected that gabapentin might be the cause. I thought it was just me. I started using a cervical collar and that really helped me. That was my only issue.

I saw one last week that had 5 of the regulars listed. So for me, that added to the argument that they aren't right.

Pretty meaningless these days. It means they used the same IP address at some time.

There are about 4 billion IPv4 IP addresses. Each internet service provider (ISP) owns a chunk of them. Most people don't get assigned their own IP address, they get assigned a new one whenever they connect to the internet. Some ISP's tend to give you the same one every time, some change every time you log in. Smart phones tend to change IP address every time you connect to the network. There is also "carrier grade NAT," which means that many people at the same ISP appear to share the same IP address.

If you use hotel WiFi, coffee shop WiFi, any other public WiFi, the network at your place of work, library computers, school wired network or WiFi, etc., you will probably share someone else's IP address at the same time, and you'll definitely have someone else using the IP address you used to day.

When I moderated another board, the users with one particular ISP got a different IP address at least once a day.

And that's the simple explanation. For a lot of reasons, one user may end up using the same IP address someone else used before.

IPv6 theoretically will change this, but even that's not a sure thing and IPv6 is rolling out really slowly, and has some very major problems at this time.

TL:DR - "Also posted as" will often catch multiple ID disorder, but it will also wrongly accuse a lot of posts. It ceased to be that accurate about 15 years ago, and is constantly getting worse.

BTW, gabapentin is nasty stuff with bad side effects and difficult withdrawal for many people. It should only be used when the condition is bad enough,and there aren't better alternatives. It's also one of the medications where you REALLY want to read, understand, and follow the directions and warnings.

It's also a miracle drug for some people.

That is interesting. Gramps thinks a likely place to happen is in a hub airport. If you have a long layover, you may use the airport's public wifi. People from many cities may log in during layovers in that airport.
