I was notified by my DME that it was time for me to pick up supplies. I told them I only wanted a humidifier tank and new headgear since I have plenty of cushions and filters available. They said they did not have the headgear available, but would order it for me and send it to my home. When I got home, they call me and said the insurance (Medicare) would not approve the purchase of the headgear, but they could send me a complete mask assembly. Since my headgear is stretched out and I am starting to get leaks around the mask, I told them to go ahead and send me the complete mask assembly.

This is your DME trying to make a buck. The schedule specifically says that they cover headgear only. DME makes more from a mask assembly. That's why they called you back.

Now that we have the middle east and all the U.S.A.'s problems solved, Lincare sent a woman out to get usage data from my XPAP, all she could do was to remove the Smart Card, and put it in a baggy. She said she would return it tomorrow, after the God of smart cards reads the compliance data, to send to my INS Co. I hope it's not his 7th day, because we know that's the day he rests.

So two trips to my home to get compliance data, after 10 years of not tracking compliance data. One hour before she came the same company Lincare sent a man out to check up on my O2 pump (monthly) and service it, It requires no service. I did not suggest they ride together to save gas, dont want to be accused of running their business.

What do you think, will I ever see my Smart Card again? Odd's aren't too good, but strange things do happen. The story goes this is a requirement of my INS co, to keep getting supplies. ( I have not seen my DR. in 3 months, he has had no dealings with them over supplies). The Beat Goes On! Jim

Well, despite the stupidity of Lincare checking my compliance after only 10 years. My contact with two of their employees coming to my home was good, still unnecessary, but both were pleasant and did what they said they would, maybe even the God of Smart Card Readers, at least it was returned in a timely manor.
