Update -

I got a certified folder package yesterday.

Inside was a dozen pages of paper - 3 Clinical Visit Summary's from 12/7/12 my first appt, A follow up appt on 10/15/13 and my most current one 11/9/15 that gives a summary of his notes, and everything about my appts. Also included are the 5 reports I gave them this last appt showing my AHI/ graphs etc ....

Missing it seems is a Prescription/Order of any type and also a report from my sleepy study (I did get a summary copy from my family dr).

Just thought I would give an update.... I have this appt in a little over 2 weeks for the new sleep doc, looking forward to it!

Good luck with the new sleep Dr.
It sounds like the rotten doc sent you everything except what you specifically asked for. (probably on purpose) the copy of your prescriptiion, and your sleep test results. I wouldn't bother with "rotten doc" anymore, but it seems liike his office is just messing with you. He doesn't want you to be able to get supplies anywhere else but his contact.

I think it's time to file some complaints with the medical board in your state and with Medicare if you are on Medicare. The incomplete file violates your right to ALL of your medical record. It prejudices your right to use the vendor of your choice and forces you to get a new sleep study in order for a new sleep doctor to prescribe equipment for you.

Don't let his office play you. They need to have some consequences.

Vengeance or moving on. Your choice.

Or why not both?

Move to a new doc. AND file the complaint. It's not just about vengeance. Think of it as community service in that maybe you can prevent this a-hole from doing this to other patients, too.

If you can't get a copy of your old doc's order - prescription - for your cpap, then also consider that maybe one was never issued, or perhaps not in a form that would comply with the regulator. You then could make a complaint against the DME that they must have issued the cpap to you without one. That could make them cough up a copy to you in order to defend themselves. If the DME is in bed with the doc on this, then they need consequences, too!

I'd also look to see what I could find out about the doc's financial interest in the DME. If you can prove that there is one, then a complaint to your State's licensing body, outlining the conflict of interest and how it has impacted YOU, is in order. In such a case, the doc needs to be reduced to cleaning bedpans because he surely is not fit to practice medicine.
I'm workin' on it.

Collusion between doctor and supplier is illegal where I live.

Plenty of big talk anonymously on the internet. Post links to the newspaper articles showing you took down corporations.
You are changing his words to fit your own agenda; he said resolve when being mistreated; you have been here a while but appear to be a troll

He made that post eight days ago, and hasn't posted since. Why do you feel the need to dig it up?

Hi flightco,

I appreciate your response and basically I agree with you, however for some of us limiting a prescription to one type of mask can be a problem if the doctor requires a visit for each prescription.

Agree with you completely, if they won't accept the Drs orders as the Dr. chooses to write them then I would look elsewhere.

Really? Why do you feel the need to tell me what I should or shouldn't do? If you don't like it, move on...

Thought I would update here on this thread.

Went to the new sleep dr today, so glad everything worked out the way it did, and I am now a patient with her. She seems real nice and is going to battle for me if needed with the insurance company for the in lab sleep study.

Turns out she even reads and does the reporting for most sleep labs in my area lol.

She's going to start with a bi- level study as well we already know I have obstructive sleep apnea from the study three years ago, just need to "show" the insurance the central events in a lab for them to pay for bi-pap/asv.
She agrees the machine I have now has helped (s9 adapt asv) - but thinks with a new asv with diff/more settings we can fine tune things better and get my ahi down in the single digits/ 5's vs teens now. Heck I am thrilled I am that low coming from 30s-50's+ when I was on my auto cpap!

Hope everyone a safe and great holiday!
