Just A struggle From Good To Worse
Fairly new to c-pap but started with nose pillows which started good but from that point till now down hill. Had to quit pillows due to sinus problems so then a full face mask Quattro and that was fairly good but now gone south again not getting much time with it on. Down to two to three hours a night. Dry mouth most problem even with Res Med machine set to four and usage of water over half in four hours my mouth still dry. So down to two on scale which is some better now nose stops up dang makes the night not good mask on then off then on how can this be good for a person not much true rest. Still not given up but sure no fun and yes I wash out my sinus before bed but still at times my nose stops up on one side so off comes the mask. Lately I lay down mask is fine then later I wake up with it feeling something creeping on my face as it moves up and down as I breath. I try to make it tighter then my neck hurts from the straps. I am about at roads end but I am not giving up just yet. Going to try turning down to 2 or 1 for cooler air maybe that will help some. Just venting what I am sure many have gone through sure hope it gets better soon I need the rest. Thanks for reading. Larry

I am also new to this. First mask was very comfortable, nose pillow and covered mouth, but when my face relaxed it broke seal, so every time I dozed off, I was awakened by the swoosh of air. If tightened it hurt. So next tried a nose only with a chin strap...that was last night, woke up suffocating because my nose became congested, ripped the miserable thing off and gave up. Going tomorrow to see what other masks they have available. Told I had 30 days to try different masks and find one that works, and my Dr. said to make sure I got one that fit properly, so I will keep trying. You are not alone!

On my third mask in 2 week period. I have sinus problems as well, interested to hear why you can't use pillows, cause I sure don't want to have to go to a more invasive mask.

Re: Just A struggle From Good To Worse
Starting out nose pillows worked great then sinus infection from allergies. Next try started good then one side of my nose stopped up and I woke as if suffocating and tore it off my head. After that stayed with my full face mask hope in time to figure it out. Fine if I sleep on my back which I have never done but if I turn on my side then mask does not leak but wakes me up feeling like something crawling on my face. I will continue to try and figure it out maybe one night but dry mouth may never get figured out. Have tried mouth gel works fine for a little while then mouth gets dry again. Based on your comments you folks may want to read through the thread on the Dreamware mask and see if it looks like something that might improve things for you. For me it's been a God send. I'm not exaggerating when I say that I've woken up and thought I had forgotten to go to sleep with my mask on, then reached up and realized I had it on. Having nothing inside my nose and nothing hanging off the front of my face is what makes that possible. Works fine for both side and back sleepers. As always, masks are highly personal and YMMV.

Re: Just A struggle From Good To Worse
The third mask is working. I suspect that anyone with sinus problems should avoid the nose only ones because then your mouth opens up and there is no pressure. And as I said before with the chin strap you suffocate. The mask I have now is a ResMed airfit F10 full face. Didn't think I would like it but it really isn't bad at all . I am a back sleeper so don't know if it would be ok on side, might not. Have managed four nights with it on all night and no problems.

If you people sign up and log in and record your equipment people will be able to help you better.
No amount of humidity levels will keep your mouth from being dry, it is not designed for that. You may actually be making it worse by cranking up your humidity. Some sinuses simply don't like that much humidity and clog up instead. That is why you have levels for your humidity.
Mask liners help with discomfort of the full face mask.
