Re: OT: Fake Microsoft service calls

Hubby has been getting calls from an alleged "computer tech" (foreign accent, boiler room background)
claiming to be responding to error messages sent to MS from his computer. [error messages are always anonymous]
THIS IS A SCAM! Microsoft will never make initial contact with a user by phone ( "cold call")
They would especially never do any troubleshooting for free, or remotely.
Hang up on these scammers--or jerk them around for the fun of it.

I've bought quite a bit from this seller... they are legit and provide good fast service at an excellent price.

I like my ResMed AirFit F10 FFM - reasonably low leaks for my ASV therapy. I'm currently using a PR S1 AutoSV 960P Advanced. I also keep a ResMed S9 Adapt as backup. I use a heated Hibernite hose. Still rockin' with Win 7 by using GWX to stop Win 10.

I used to get those calls somewhat frequently. They kept claiming it was errors coming from my IP number, but they never could tell me what my IP number was (and mine changes every time I go through my ISP). The phone number (before they used anonymous screening) came from the east coast, but the person had a far eastern accent. I kept telling them they were lying a$$holes and that my computer wasn't even on (even though it may have been). Haven't had a call recently, but I keep hoping they finally got tired of being yelled at.
