Well maybe thats why I am so confused! lol. I wondered if its possible that the machine is telling me that it is doing a 12 pressure when it might be giving me less. Do you think they can break like that? It almost feels like less pressure but I can't tell if its just in my head.Wulfman... wrote:Those reports look really good to me. I don't have any ideas at the moment on what could have been causing you problems.
Maybe it's something unrelated to CPAP.

The reports are going to display what your machine "setting" is. If it's putting out less therapy air than that, only a manometer would verify that. As I said, you could take it to a nearby DME (if you have one locally), or to a hospital (they have Respiratory Therapists there with manometers) or you could check it with the methods I suggested earlier in this thread. What you could do is take the mask off of the end of your hose, take a ruler and tape it to the end of the hose and mark the hose at your pressure of 12 cm. (Sharpie marker or tape) Then, take a bucket of water, put the hose into the water (below the line you marked), and then turn on the machine. Gradually raise the hose to the mark and see if some bubbles start coming out of the end of the hose at approximately the mark you've made on the hose. If they do, then your machine is putting out the (approximate) correct pressure. Due to manufacturers tolerances, most machines have some "wiggle room" of about plus or minus .5 to 1.0 cm. But, this method will let you know that your pressure is "close enough".bri127 wrote:Well maybe thats why I am so confused! lol. One word of caution........make sure the hose is deep enough into the water BEFORE you turn the machine on or you'll have water blowing out and maybe all over the place. Or, do this test where it won't matter if a little water gets splattered around. I'm speaking from experience here........
One other note: If your machine was putting out much less than your stated/set pressure, your reports probably wouldn't look this good.

Re: Not breathing again after a year...
The machine shows it is giving 12. We do get use to the pressures where it seems less. But even if the pressure is less, it is controlling your apneas. I don't know what might be causing the episodes you had those 3 nights. If there were episodes they were less than 10 seconds and not flagged. Maybe someone else has more ideas than I do.

Okay thank you so much for the help! I will do that I think. I am very new to all of this. I didn't realize there was so much to it!Wulfman... wrote:The reports are going to display what your machine "setting" is. Re: Not breathing again after a year...
That is really interesting. I had no idea the "flagged" reports were the ones that meant it is more than 10 seconds.. I am not sure what is causing the episodes. I just noticed more AHIs than usual. I will keep researching about how to understand the data so I can be more up to date on what is going on. I appreciate you looking at it for me.OkyDoky wrote:The machine shows it is giving 12. Sorry to ask such a basic question, but do you know that even with the best CPAP therapy it is common to have some events every night?bri127 wrote: I am not sure what is causing the episodes. I just noticed more AHIs than usual.
