first night with dreamwear
first night with dreamwear
I have been using Airfit 10 mask. It has been working ok except it would leak when I turned over plus I like to drink water at night at thats not easy with a mask. I decided to try a Dreamwear nasal mask. My question is, do I need to make any adjustments with the CPAP machine??? My pressure minimum is on 9. I did try it on for size and it was definitely different. I noticed right away not to open my mouth. Part I worry more about is if I can exhale through just my nose. IDK Free 30 day trial is nice part of the mask. Any tips would be appreciated

There is a setting where you can choose the mask type (Full Face, Nasal or Nasal Pillow), choose the Nasal for the Dreamwear.
I don't know what impact it actually has on operation of the machine, if any. My guess is that it changes how the machine interprets the data it measures, which may or may not affect how it actually operates in APAP mode.
You shouldn't need to change any pressure settings between masks, but if you find exhaling difficult, try adjusting the EPR setting.
Good luck!

Well I believe I will give up on the dreamwear mask. I just cant get it to work for me. One think it feels like I cant get enough air. I have to take in deep breaths just to feel adequate. Also it seems like it gets dislodged easy and starts to leak. I had great hopes for the nasal mask mostly so I could drink during the night and also the occasional scratch. IDK, maybe I am not doing something right but its just not for me I dont think. I believe I will return to my Airfit 10 full mask

You are not alone. The marked turbulent noise and easy dislodging were two of the four reasons it is not #1.
