Seriously? Last time around, I thought this drama was going private. Shoulda known it wouldn't stay that way. Ugh.

Just get a trach already and be done with it.

(Now you'll ask me what a trach is. Do us all a favor and read something other than YouTube comments...)

The short quiet we had briefly enjoyed was perfect but too brief.

Why is nobody keeping a record of the episodes in this saga? The Classic soap opera, "The Good The Bad, and The Unwilling"..... on Eight Days A Week, on a Internet Near You.

Don't know what you guys are talking about. I'm continuing to try. Maybe if you couldn't sleep for 40 hours at a time no matter how hard you tried you'd understand. We all don't have the same situation but whatever. Hey at least I finally got my equipment. Now I'm just trying, but not able to do anything about my struggle.

It's been found that the majority of people who hang around on help forums long after they have received the information they need, have no understanding that their mentality is that of cult culture and they are identical to the bullies one sees on television or reads about in newspapers. In this case, they use vulgar words and innuendos, instead of guns or knives.

They are the bullies.

Interesting that one bully couldn't contain himself and just had to jump in -- and then the other bullies followed right behind. Cult mentality.

If you can't breathe through a nasal mask, go get a full face mask. You've got to be able to breathe somehow. Then concentrate on wearing it.

As to Ambien, the idea is to take it and get some sleep with CPAP for at least a few days, but get off of the Ambien soon.

First, I disagree with the whole premise. But second, even if that statement had some validity, I'd point out that you've been here since at least 2011... Pot, meet kettle. (I'll give you one thing: At least you're consistent with the hypocrisy.)

ems/happydaz/Brattygirl65/dream4sleep/Worldwar2/Lucyhere/maybe some others: How *do* you keep them all straight? (Oh, nvm, you don't!)

Next to any legitimate noob seeking the forum's assistance, you're insulting and a waste of time.

Lucy,

There are long termers on this board who are very helpful and also have the decency to keep their mouths shut if they have nothing nice to say. So let's not stereotype all long termers on this board as bullies.

But you are right about how the cult mentality showed up again on this thread. Extremely disgusting but not surprising.

Stereotyping the "majority" of veterans here as bullies -- well, that's being a bully in and of itself. As 49er said, there are a LOT of veterans that stay out of this mess because they ARE good people.

If your goal is to antagonize the MAJORITY of veterans - good, helpful people that go above and beyond to help new people coming in - you are well on your way.

Take a step back and ask yourself, HONESTLY, if your behavior is any better than the so-called bullies you wish to call out.

And as for Enchanter, I wish him well and hope that he can get this all sorted out. Beyond that, I am staying out of it because I don't believe I can be of any help and do not wish to make it any worse.

You can help yourself with your struggle by taking the following steps:

1. Post your equipment in your profile.
2. Post the sleep studies that qualified you for your equipment.
3. Download sleepyhead.
4. Post sleepyhead data.

If you find this difficult and overwhelming find a person who can help you do this.

I don't know for sure. But because of my allergies, even with the nose sprays and shots, I wasn't able to breathe out of my nose for a period of time while I was trying to sleep with the nasal mask. And I couldn't breathe with my mouth, my muscled just stopped. I don't remember that happening before. I felt like I was almost asleep, but had to force myself to get the mask off fast because I wasn't breathing at all. It was scary.[/quote]

It sounds like u had something that happened to me when I first started treatment and that was actually being asleep with my mask on and dreaming/thinking I couldn't breath and taking my mask off. It is a terrible feeling but I put my mask back on and went back to sleep.
You may have done the same thing, actually went to sleep and maybe had a panic attack and just imagined u couldn't breath. You have yourself worked up and convinced that u can't sleep in the mask...try a full face mask, u CAN sleep on your side, I do. Another thing to try, wear your mask around during your awake hours to get yourself used to it being on your face, that helps a bunch. Also if you have to sleep during the daylight hours make sure to cover your windows so your room is dark, done that for 32 years working shift...it works.

In a previous post in one of Enchanter's tirades, you called him silly and dramatic...is that considered being a bully?

You are being silly and dramatic... "Murder"?? Maybe you shouldn't post here anymore. You are no longer getting responses that are helpful to you. So why do you keep posting? Why are you putting yourself in this situation over and over? You need to understand that people don't know you and can't give you answers that only you and your doctors can figure out. Work with your doctors or someone who can really help you.

Just to be clear:

" This in no way includes those genuine people who remain on forums to pay it forward. The differences between a cult member and someone who remains to pay it forward are immense and almost immediately noticeable. Generally, the pay it forward types do not intimidate or belittle; instead they are welcoming and happy to share the wisdom they possess. "
