I've been trying klonopin+gabapentin because some doctor prescribed it to me, a neurologist. Is it really effective at giving you refreshing deep sleep? I just feel dizzy and sleepy

The guy who works on my car has an opinion, but if you were prescribed something from your Dr, I'd check with him before asking my auto mechanic.
You need equipment to measure what you are asking about that you most likey don't have to even see if this is an issue for you.

Re: Increasing Slow Wave Sleep with Gabapentin???
When I was first diagnosed with apnea, my sleep doctor also suggested I go on Gabapentin as well, as my sleep study showed a lot of leg restlessness and the Gabapentin would possibly calm that down to give me a better sleep.
I took anywhere between 1 and 3, 300mg capsules each night to see how the different amounts of medication worked. Then I stopped after 6 months.
The only difference I found, was that if I FORGOT to take the medication, then I would have a very bad sleep, toss and turn all night. If I took the medication, I slept OK.
After I completely stopped taking it... no difference at all in my sleep patterns, and wakefulness during the day.
Not sure how much this helps.
But it is my experience with this medication.

it's like this fogginess or dizziness I had on the gabapentin even at 300mg I think. I don't think it was that great but the studies show it increases SWS. I think trazodone may be better but may narrow the blood vessels which could cause damage long term
I don't like klonopin because of the Alzheimer's connection but it does seem to help my sleep and give me more clarity and energy when I sleep on 0.5mg.

Re: Increasing Slow Wave Sleep with Gabapentin???
I take Gabapentin daily right now. I have a seizure disorder and have a flare up and have a few I have to use it to break the cycle. I was also taking klonopin three times a day. It all affects my mood and how I feel throughout the day and how I sleep. But in the end for me it helps keep me seizure free so I live with the minimal side effects.

is PLMD a seizure disorder? my neurologist was at a top university and had tons of education but I still wonder if I was cognitively impaired on gabapentin during the day. I don't know if I could get a 150mg dose maybe it might be ok. but I tend to like trazodone better I think
