Re: can't access apneasupport.org
Hmmm, I had no trouble with the 1st link...
Re: can't access apneasupport.org

They are NOT related... apneasupport.org is gone, has been gone for a while. No forum there.BleepingBeauty wrote:Out of curiosity, I attempted to bring up the apnea board just now (not the link above, but http://www.apneaboard.com/) and got an "error loading feed data" on what appears to be the main page. Hmmm...
Apneaboard, is a different board/system and is currently having issues. Happens. Possibility hacked based on the URL response (while it was there). Not a big surprise in that many of these forums use very old software without the current patches and are not using SSL for users login protection. If they have good backups, they should be back up once they fix the issue had patch the vulerability IF THERE WAS ONE... just speculating.
A guest user restarting a post last posted to in 2011 about another forum that is dead is just a waste of time. Should have been deleted as spam IMHO.

Huh? I thought only posts that technically qualify as spam are supposed to be deleted. Maybe it is a waste of time to you but someone else might care about what happened to the site which CG was nice enough to provide information on.Krelvin wrote:They are NOT related... apneasupport.org is gone, has been gone for a while. And by the way, ASAA is now assisting in running this site, http://www.myapnea.org as an FYI.

Re: can't access apneasupport.org
Being new here, I like to read the old posts. It helps to understand some of these.
If the forum owners thought the old posts were useless, they could just delete every post over a year old. Six months old? Three months?
I guess they think like I do that the old posts still have value.

Well, just because an ancient thread is resurrected doesn't qualify the post that did it as spam, IMO. It doesn't appear that it was actual spam to me, but to each his own...Krelvin wrote:They are NOT related... apneasupport.org is gone, has been gone for a while. I thought it was clear from my post that I know they're separate sites. Was just curious about the apnea board because it's been discussed here recently, so I tried to load it and posted the responses I got. I have no need of the apnea board as I like this forum just fine; just wanted to see what it was like. *shrug*
Veni, vidi, Velcro. I came, I saw, I stuck around.

Re: can't access apneasupport.org
of course old posts have value, but it's like a library, search for what you want in the stacks...Susie Kay wrote:I guess they think like I do that the old posts still have value.
either use the search box at the top of each page, or use google with site:cpaptalk.com in your search, like:
site:cpaptalk.com apneaboard
however, I would argue that an old post about being banned from a forum that doesn't exist anymore would have limited value

Most apparently missed the IMHO.... ie I was expressing an opinion, not policy.

Curious they don't forward to that site though, instead they forward to Facebook.49er wrote:And by the way, ASAA is now assisting in running this site, http://www.myapnea.org as an FYI.

Agree that it is curious. Have no clue about what their strategy or game plan is.Krelvin wrote:Curious they don't forward to that site though, instead they forward to Facebook.49er wrote:And by the way, ASAA is now assisting in running this site, http://www.myapnea.org as an FYI.

You and your projects are most welcome on CPAPtalk. We have great respect for your work.jedimark wrote:They aren't very friendly over there.. They didn't like me mentioning my software one little bit.. Deleted my post :-/
I only dared to post because several users over there were asking questions about SleepyHead. I didn't even post a link.
I kinda want to know now if I am peeving the people behind CPAPTalk.. I know they are a heck of a lot more forgiving than the other sleep forums out there, and I'm very grateful for it.
Am I doing something evil and am too darn stupid to realize?

Re: can't access apneasupport.org
I think people just get confused, if we post a "new" topic we get admonished that we should have done a search because it has been discussed before and if we do a search and then post a reply to it we get admonished for bringing up an OLD post! Seems sometimes we can't win for losing!

There is the ability at the administration level to lock old posts as READ ONLY, that way you would have old cake, and be able to chew it too. JimSusie Kay wrote:Being new here, I like to read the old posts. It helps to understand some of these.

Does anyone know what's going on with this site? I heard from my doctor that they lost their funding, but they are still up. Do you trust what they are doing with the data?
