How do I find out which SleepyHead download to install?

Post by SofaBear » Mon Sep 07, 2015 8:37 pm

About all I know is I am running a 64bit version on Windows. Other than that, how do I know which SleepyHead download to use?

Go to http://www.sleepfiles.com/SH

Get the 64 bit Windows version. The .exe file is easier to install. SleepyHead-Testing-0.9.8-1-T3-Windows-64bit.exe

Run the .exe file and it will extract the program files. It will ask you where to install it. Remember where it installed it.

Once you've extracted the program files, go into the directory you just created by running the SleepyHead-Testing-0.9.8-1-T3-Windows-64bit.exe file. There will be a SleepyHead-OpenGL.exe file. Run that. If it gives you an error message about OpenGL problems, try using the SleepyHead-BrokenGL version of the file.

Note: Windows does a bad thing and hides file extensions. You may not see the ".exe" when you look at the files in the folders. Your PC will be less confusing if you stop it from hiding file extensions, but it's not necessary. You can find this under "tools-folder options-view-hide extensions for known file types" .

I guess I was lucky during my recent install. I just downloaded SH v0.9.8.1 (it had both OpenGL and BrokenGL included) and it automatically ran the installer. It looked to see if my graphic card was supported for the OpenGL version and since I have a basic motherboard HDMI Intel chipset it was happy as a clam and installed the Open GL. It'll tell you if you need BrokenGL or the 32bit version. Next, it asked where I wanted to install the data folder and I accepted the default in my Documents. I think that was about it for the install, tho it did say it couldn't find any therapy data (put in your cpap SD card). It's pretty intuitive: Just setup the graphs to the height you want; eliminate those graphs you don't use; resize and drag/drop them where you desire; remove the right toolbar from view (only useful for bookmarks) and you're good to go.

I like my ResMed AirFit F10 FFM - reasonably low leaks for my ASV therapy. I'm currently using a PR S1 AutoSV 960P Advanced. I also keep a ResMed S9 Adapt as backup. I use a heated Hibernite hose. Still rockin' with Win 7 by using GWX to stop Win 10.
