Folks have used various methods for that. Wedge pillows, backpacks, tennis balls fastened to the back of a tee shirt and whatever else they can come up with.

Edit: I'm going to politely disagree with Pugsy's thought of higher (straight) pressure......IF you can stay off your back (or whatever position caused those clusters). Other than those couple of periods, your report looks pretty good.

Here is a copy of the CSR opened up. The previous report I posted did have a CSR indicated, but it got cut off to the right side of the report when posted

In answer to questions:

No unusual medications like sleeping pills, anxiety, etc, just the regular BP and cholesterol, etc
The machine is set at EPR level 3. I didn't know much about that so I let it be ..
Humidity at 5
I have had CSR on all 3 masks I've used , 10 in the month of July, only a couple so far in August using the FFM and APAP pressure
My current pressure is 13 - 20, and these issues do seem to happen when the machine is maxed at 20,
I was using a pressure of around 11 using the nasal mask, but moved it up to 13 when using the FFM.

My husband does notice that through the early hours of the morning, the amount of air coming out of my "exhale vent" gets very heavy, he calls it a tornado. Much more so than earlier in the night when I am quieter. This seems to be related to when I am heavy mouth breathing. What do you think about a mouth guard.... needed with a FFM?

For all intents and purposes, a mouth guard shouldn't be needed with a full face mask.

The "tornado" is probably when your pressure is getting high.
Has he noticed what sleeping position you're in when the pressure goes high?

Edit: Thinking out loud........I wonder if you MAY be mouth breathing and the machine reads it as CSR. If that's the case, maybe a mouth guard would be worth a try.

I am on my side facing him when he feels this, I wondered if it was a time when I was rolling over from my back, we don't know

I still think a straight/constant pressure would be something to return to. That would be a "constant" and then you could try different things and (hopefully with) your husband observing whatever he can.

That's a very abrupt pattern and I would think it wouldn't take much to figure out.

How could it be? After spending so much time yesterday fretting over this, I changed nothing and had the best night ever at 1.38. Totally smooth, even pressure, no big jumps, easy peasy. I totally wish every night was like this. Guess there are just so many variables in life and sleep ...... Did I fit the mask just a little looser..... or a little tighter..... did I have my pillow different.... did my cheeks "stick" to the mask just a little better...... Was I more tired.... less tired..... At any rate, I just want to tell you guys how much I appreciate this forum..... I will continue to read and learn and try different things as I need to. What an education I've gotten..... You've been a life saver for me.

Glad to hear you had a better night and that it has given you hope for more like it.

Hey,

I noticed all the leaks, are you cleaning the mask and your face every night prior to going to bed?

Yes, definitely clean my face well every night, mask almost always. Do you think that makes a significant difference? Will try to do that more diligently.

Your leak graphs don't show any large leaks. They look rather ugly only because of the scale involved and SleepyHead is making mountains out of mole hills because your leaks are actually very minor.
The scale starts with the maximum and goes from there. Your maximum is actually quite low so then the graph scale gets a more up close zoomed in thing.
Large leak territory is 24 L/min with your machine....you have a long way to go before worrying about leaks harming therapy.

I still am scratching my head over what caused the ugliness but unless it starts happening all the time I think I would chalk this up to the "aliens" who get blamed for the stuff we don't have answers to.
The CSR flagged time frame doesn't look like "real" CSR or at least the kind that might indicate additional breathing instability issues.
