Padacheek dyed mask. Isn't ruined?

Post by Corky1121 » Thu Aug 20, 2015 8:45 am

So I wipe my mask liner with a baby wipe every day. Today I noticed in the light it had pink on it. It's not coming off. Is the mask ruined. I didn't think padacheek liners would do this. It's still soaking g in soapy water. Is there something else I should try to fix this?

It shouldnt be ruined if just a little off colored. Try taking the cushion off the mask and boiling it with a little baking soda, that usually brings them back to life, not sure about the color though...

Well I don't think pink dye on a mask liner is a good thing. Is it. I've soaked it for a few hours to clean but still really pink. I'm annoyed because the liner helped and was comfortable, but I'm not happy with dye all over liner.

Why don't you write to Karen (owner/designer and forum member) at the website?

I did have a blue liner leave a blue tint to my N10 cushion but since I always used the liner (between me and the cushion) the color didn't impair the function of the cushion at all. Probably if I had washed it first it wouldn't have happened because I did wash my husband's blue liner and his F10 is not discolored.

Maybe the dye came from something in the baby wipe reacting with the liner. What wipes are you using? I really dont see how pink dye will affect the usability of the liner.

My pink pad a cheek liner turned my nano cushion pink too. Didn't hurt a thing. My mask still works fine. I believe we should wash the liner before using it next time.

Thank you folks I did email padacheek and she said it doesn't harm the liner. She said there was a note saying to wash padacheek first but of course with my low energy, foggy, lyme brain I didn't see it as it took me a long time to figure out how to put the padacheek on. I was paying more attention to the pictures and instructions on how to out it on.

I'm not happy about it, but I can live with it.

hmmm, I've used every color pad-a-cheek liner there is & never washed them before the 1st use....

I've never experienced any dying of my cushion. I too suspect that something in your wipes may have triggered it.

FWIW.... Cushions & Liners are all the same color when you turn out the lights and go to sleep.
