Some of you might now I lost my machine due to insurance issues. My mom left to Spain to see my sister for 2 weeks so she told me to use her as my sister has her a machine up there for when she visits. My mom has the S9 Autoset so I said cool let me use sleepyhead and see were Im at. I used my mom machine last night and saw that my number were AHI 5.54. I know we want to try to go under 5 so Im trying to tweak this as much as I can. I had my min pressure at 5 because well the 4 that they set up my machine with was torture. So i set it up to 5 and it was more bearable but looking at my graph from sleepyhead it shows I went up from 5 rather quickly and never really went back down. I was thinking of setting my min to 6 today and see how that went. looking at my chart anyone have any suggestions at were I should start my min at? I know I should not be looking at 1 day as I saw there was a statistic page which said like this week, month, 6 months etc.
Should I wait til I have about a weeks worth of data to see what the average is? Heck maybe it was just a bad night for me. I did go to bed late last night. I do remember when I would go to sleep late my wife would say I was etc loud in the snore dept those night. anyways here it is..

My suggestion would be to set the machine to a fixed pressure of 9 or 10 cm. Either by setting minimum and maximum to the same pressure or set the machine to CPAP mode with one of those pressures.
You've got "stuff" going on when your pressure gets to the higher settings, so this would help to rule in or out any effects that the higher pressures may be having on your events.
Then.......monitor your reports for a week and see how it works.
You could also try different EPR settings, too. If you don't feel you need the exhale relief, so much the better.
What were the settings on your other machine?

well my other machine was the S9 Escape Auto but the settings were pretty much the same. 5 min 14 max. never really ran sleepyhead as I was told this was a brick machine.
going to see what happens tonight!

I'd set your min to 10 and see how things looked...

ok so last night I went up to 6 as the min and I think I had a better night. I dont want to say that it was harder to go to bed it was just probably all mental since I know I had put the pressure up but sleepy head says I had a better night. I went from a 5.54 to a 1.41 which looks like a pretty good improvement to me..

After seeing that report, I haven't changed my opinion/recommendation.

I find I feel better with a higher minimum pressure even though it doesn't seem to change my AHI much. YMMV.

ok going to try to put my min pressure up and see how it goes. I have to tell ya I thought 6 was a little ruff but then again its probably in my head as sleepyheads shows my going up to 9-11 95% of the time so. lets see how this goes.. I will report back.

If you think 6.0 cm was rough...and your AHI is under 2.0 and you are sleeping well and feeling decent...there is no urgent need to change your minimum pressure further.
If you are having issues sleeping well with the changes or your AHI is still running in the 5 ish range and you want to pursue increasing that minimum...go up very slowly so that the increase isn't such a shock to your system. There's no urgent need to make big leaps in pressure settings especially if those changes are uncomfortable to you and the discomfort causes sleep problems.
Some people can handle big leaps in pressure and some can't. Go slow if you want to increase and the increase is hard to deal with. Besides...you might find that you don't need as much minimum as it might seem right now. Often if the minimum is more optimal than the pressure will sort of stabilize or level out and not go as high or as often. Another reason to go slow in small steps.
I may have to RISE but I refuse to SHINE.
