CPAP Equipment Storage

Post by Ms. OwLMooN » Sat Aug 15, 2015 2:54 am

I store my mask and water chamber tub each day in a Tupperware type container to avoid dust but I am interested in looking for some other ways to store them while not in use.

I don't remove or clean my water chamber...i just keep it filled with distilled water and every morning I throw my mask in a bedside drawer.

Excellent question. I never thought about that. I keep my mask in my cpap end table drawer. Love that cabinet! I would keep the humidifier tub in the machine. If it is an issue, maybe throw a hand towel over it, or use baby wipes and wipe the mask down every night before using. Be sure to use a baby wipe with no alcohol or aloe. I use Pamper Thick Wipes for sensitive skin. Somewhere around a $1.78 for a pack of 60 wipes.

Good to know!

I might have to clean out one of my dresser draws though but I'll keep that in mind.

Thanks!

Chamber in machine, mask on pillow. Close door so dog stays off bed.

Machine and all remain on nightstand......chamber attached to machine with water in the chamber......mask still attached to hose and hung over the hose connector where it attaches to the HH tank (sort of a built-in hanger).
No dust where I live......

"LOL" and I know you wouldn't want your dog to use your mask as a chew toy so good idea by shutting the door!

I wouldn't want that either!

My family and I all have problems with dry skin and we also own a parrot. Two things that equal lots of dust!

I have an old hatrack in my bedroom. The mask and headgear get placed on one hook and the hose gets draped on another. Once every week I wash the mask in soapy water unless I sneeze or drool in it, then it gets a quick cleaning with a baby type wipe (I use Remzzz mask liners, BTW). The tank gets a once a week rinse with Control III, which I get from CPAP.com... that keeps down the build up of grunge in my PR tank's many annoying crannies/corners. Once a month the whole system gets a pretty decent cleaning, including the hose (not to mention, a filter change). I think I pretty much fall in the 'middle ground' regarding CPAP cleaning cuz there are folks that do the whole mask and machine EVERY day. Whew, just thinking about that gives me a headache.

I like my ResMed AirFit F10 FFM - reasonably low leaks for my ASV therapy. I'm currently using a PR S1 AutoSV 960P Advanced. I also keep a ResMed S9 Adapt as backup. I use a heated Hibernite hose. Still rockin' with Win 7 by using GWX to stop Win 10.

The other day, I saw on cpap.com's "new product" section a plastic mask stand that sits on your end table. It was $20 or so. Kinda of a waste of money, but I will admit looking at it real hard.

If I was worried about that, I'd be wearing a mask filter all day long. I wipe my machine off almost every time I change the filter. The mask falls behind the mattress, when I turn it back on I run my finger around the inside, just in case a spider has homed up in it. No need for me hide my machine, I'm going to be using it in another 16 hours. Jim

Depends on how dusty your bedroom is. My sister, who no longer needs a cpap, did what you did when she lived in LA. Everything gets coated with this icky grime. She had to do the same thing living where she is now during spring plowing and harvesting. She usually had to change her filter weekly in those situations. When farmers weren't plowing, she just put her mask and tube into the bedside table. My mask and tube just go under the blanket when I make my bed. Little dust here.
