Has anyone used the C100 lithium battery

Post by nanwilson » Fri Aug 14, 2015 2:18 pm

My 5 year old marine battery is starting to leak so have been looking at batteries for my PR 60 series auto. I came across the C100 lithium ion battery at cpap.com. Its less $$$ than the one made by PR.. I'm in Canada so can't buy PR stuff from our hosts but can buy other manufacturers.
I was out camping all week and was using my battery with my back up machine the Fisher Paykel 604, when I packed up last night I noticed my battery was now on the replacement list . I prefer using my 60 series.. it has all the bells and whistles as opposed to my FP which is a brick
Please let me know if you have any experience with the C100 lithium ion as If its a good bet for me I will order it.
Cheers all
Nan

A quick search came up with two threads already talking about that battery. There are others.
Current Settings PS 4.0 over 10.6-18.0 (cmH2O) - Resmed S9 VPAP Auto w/h5i Humidifier - Quattro Air FFM
TNET Sleep Resource Pages - CPAP Machine Database
Put your equip in your Signature - SleepyHead v1.0.0-beta-1

I tried one and it was a dud. Wound up sending it back for refund - I was not willing to try another. There's an awful lot of energy stored in those cells and I didn't trust a model that was basically DOA and would not accept a charge out of the box. I am pretty much car camping or relying on battery for power outages so size is not a major concern. If traveling alot esp flying I would probably find one of these little guys but it's not really needed just now. I have a few small and medium AGM batteries for backup and 27 watt solar panel to charge when needed.

Thanks for the replies guys. I did my searching and reading last evening and I have thrown that idea out the window. My son has a pr system one and he uses the pr battery for it. So I may go that route OR I may just go back to using my brick for camping and power outages and get a new deep cycle battery. decisions, decisions
Thanks again for the feed back I appreciate the help.
Cheers
