Login Difficulty -

Post by library lady » Sat Jun 27, 2015 3:31 pm

I'm unable to login on my new computer; typing this from the old one... I'm automatically logged in, but the new computer doesn't know that yet. I have tried everything from going to my password list to be sure I was correctly remembering it, to "forgot password".. the new password sent to my email didn't work either, and I keep getting messages that don't apply .. "incorrect user name or password", "please register", "contact board administrator", etc. Nowhere can find an email link or phone number to contact Carolyn or Johnny. Can anyone tell me how to contact them?

Hi LL... had the exact same problem when I bought a new computer a few months back. I tried everything I could think of, but nothing I was doing worked. I finally had to call a neighbor who is very tech savvy and it still took him an hour to get it straightened out. I wish I could help but have no idea what he did. Hopefully, some very tech savvy person here will be able to help you out. Oh.. didn't have to contact board admin.

It may be that what is happening is you are logged in on the old computer and you have clicked on the button that says "Keep me logged in."

I did that once and the solution was to connect with the old computer and properly log off from that one.
Then log on with the new ine and see how it goes. BTW don't click on the "Keep me Logged in" or even "Automatically Connect Me."

Krelvin, I'm using Win8.1 with Google. I'm registered for the free upgrade to Win10.

You can see the password you used if using chrome by doing the following on the computer that is working

In the upper right corner of your window, click the Chrome menu Chrome menu.
Choose Settings.

At the bottom of the page, click Show advanced settings.

Under "Passwords and forms," click Manage passwords. A dialog will appear with a list of saved passwords.

In the dialog that opens, the "Saved passwords" section shows all of your saved passwords.

this recently happened to someone else, and there was an issue with capitalization... once she used the original capitalization on the username, it worked.

I am still having problems logging in. I am using the same iPad as before but I keep getting an error message. Now I have the constant "you have maxed out your attempts to log in" not word for word but that is the gist of it. For now I post with a different name each time.

I had the same issue with my account. I was logged in on my phone. I logged out on all devices, reset on my phone, made sure the catchpa was there when I went to log back in as I had the too many attempts too and was successful too. I suspect that the tablet is the issue. Try resetting from a computer.
