First night with data enabled machine....AHI high
So I finally got to swap my brick for an Airsense 10 Autoset. The pressure was set at 7-13 (10 was my prescribed pressure). The APAP pressure felt different, so I didn't sleep as well. I figure I'll get used to it in a few days.
My big concern is my first Sleepyhead report. It listed my AHIs at 11.54 and said that was horrible.
Any thoughts on what I can do to improve or help this? I'm using Swift FX nasal pillows after learning to sleep with my mouth closed.
The rest of the report.
AHI 11.54 11.54 11.54 11.54 11.54
Obstructive Index 2.12 2.12 2.12 2.12 2.12
Hypopnea Index 0.38 0.38 0.38 0.38 0.38
Clear Airway Index 9.04 9.04 9.04 9.04 9.04

Put up a copy of you sleep report with the graphs. Use print screen, then paint program to crop. Those who know a lot can give you a lot more help if they have the data.

I'm assuming that the CAs are mostly because you had a hard time falling asleep and that you "didn't sleep well." Once you become accustomed to the new equipment they should reduce. We'll see after several days. Possible problem with leaks too. are you exhaling through your mouth?

You really can't take a one-night snapshot and draw any conclusion. The CA events are generally not going to respond to changes in pressure, and as mentioned above, can be related to disrupted sleep or being awake. Your obstructive and hypopnea AHI is acceptable.
After you get past this transition, post some data. This link shows how to link Sleepyhead images here https://sleep.tnet.com/reference/tips/imgur

As always the support on this forum is awesome.
As far as opening my mouth. I don't think I am, but I was hoping the data on the machine might tell me if I was and didn't know it.
I'll give it a couple of weeks to adjust and get a better picture. Thanks for the link to upload images.

Your leak rate is just fine. It looks big due to the scale involved. It actually never quite made it to 16 L/min which is well under the ResMed 24 L/min line. If you are opening you mouth it sure isn't very much.
Nothing to worry about in terms of leak on this report.
The bulk of your AHI is CAs (centrals) and they seem to be really clustered together in a few time frames and I suspect that you were probably awake during those time frames. These machines can and will flag awake breathing irregularities by mistake because they don't know if we are asleep or not.
You know if the change to auto adjusting pressures (apap mode) is causing you to have trouble getting to sleep you could use cpap mode or make the range very tiny and eliminate the pressure changes. Your body has been used to one way of doing things and now you toss in a new way and your body may be stubborn about the adjustment phase
Plus...some people simply don't do well with the auto adjusting pressure thing.
My suggestion would be to either use cpap mode at whatever you were using on the brick machine or if you just want to try apap mode go with 1 cm above and 1 cm below whatever you were using on the brick.
Then if you want to incorporate more apap...do it very gradually based on the results you get on the reports.
I wouldn't worry about the centrals at this point when you know for sure that you didn't sleep well.

One other thought here. If your last machine did not have EPR, try backing that off a bit. You are getting 3 cm variation in each breath cycle, and if you're not used to that, it can be more disruptive than the auto CPAP variation. If you have used EPR in the past with CPAP, disregard.

here's the right way to organize SH stuff to make it easier for you, and for us.sleepynewb wrote:I hope this works....

most of what you posted isn't of use except in very specialized cases. just one screenshot, full screen, (f12 from sleepyhead) of the charts that are show there. posted with a 'large thumbnail' and 'linked bbcode' from the imgur page will do it.
makes it a lot easier on you, and presents all the data in one easy to look at spot for us.
I'd suggest making one good screenshot and going back and editing out all you posted, and putting that in instead.
make it look as close to krelvin's example on the web page as you can

Great stuff!
When I picked up my new machine yesterday and the guy was setting it up as we were talking he asked if I worked in the medical industry because I know so much. Ha! Everything I've learned has been from the great posters here.
I'll try CPAP mode tonight to see if that helps. The brick did have APR, but this did feel a bit different. Thanks for the notes on how to organize the SH info. The charts look like Greek to me!
Thanks again for everyone's input.
