Best and 2nd best CPAP machine out right now?

Post by R.G. » Sat May 09, 2015 7:30 am

I need one with a humidifier, possible self titration, and SD or SIM card or download port information for my DOT yearly compliance. Best CPAP product website? I have a 8 year old Resmed model that I have painfully found out is obsolete.
Lastly, this place is awesome!

You will need to call for pricing on the Respironics machines...there is a discounted price that is available if you ask.

or if buying used to save money try secondwindcpap.com

The 2 machines above...it's a toss up as to which one is "best". They both have very minor pros and cons.

What about the IntelliPAP BiLevel Machine with SmartCode?

https://www.cpap.com/productpage/devilb ... tcode.html

https://www.cpap.com/SmartCode-Report-A ... s-Used.pdf

SmartCode

SmartCode is a simple and easy way to review your sleep performance without the need to purchase software. Starting the day after your first treatment, the IntelliPAP machine begins to display SmartCode messages on your machine's LCD screen. Each message is a unique encrypted code containing the results of your sleep therapy. The IntelliPAP quickly confirms compliance using the Adherence Score. Doctors use the Adherence percentage score to determine whether a user is in compliance with BiLevel LCD (Local Coverage Determination). SmartCodes report Adherence based on the best consecutive thirty days of usage. Codes can be generated for the following calendar schedule:

•1 Day
•7 Days
•30 Days
•90 Days
•Cumulative

Compare it to Resmed AirCurve™ 10 VAuto BiLevel Machine with HumidAir™ Heated Humidifier,
or to S9 VPAP™ Auto BiLevel Machine, which twice as much.

I would stick with either the PR or Resmed models. Much more common, lots of support for them, better support here for them. PR should be System One Series 60 models, Resmed either Airsense 10 or the S9 models are still abundant and getting less expensive. Something with full data.

personally, I feel that the resmed autoset is the best machine for the average cpap user, (with just regular obstructive sleep apneas) with the respironics 560 a close second.

here's my nitpick list of why I feel that way: viewtopic.php?f=1&t=99737&p=927976&hili ... ks#p927976

Robysue has some well thought out additional points (I wouldn't call hers 'nitpicks') above and below that should be read too.

S9s are great value now the A10 has come out. Bit big for travel but I like the machine.

your post is pretty meaningless. the h5i is the humidifier, and there are three *vastly* different s9 machines with the word 'auto' in their name.

You may need to consider the power you will have available when on the road.
Power requirements may be different, depending on machine.
