OT: Humana Insurance fraud

Post by BlackSpinner » Mon Oct 21, 2013 2:55 pm

Friends posted this on my facebook.
http://kstp.com/news/stories/S3195872.shtml?cat=1
The Minnesota Attorney General is asking the federal government to investigate one of the state's largest health insurance providers, accusing Humana of a pattern of denying claims and overcharging folks on Medicare.

The Attorney General's office compiled several hundred pages of affidavits that it presented to the federal government on Friday. The office said it proves Humana has been improperly handling insurance claims by dozens of Minnesotans enrolled in its Medicare Advantage plans.
Actually what they posted was this
http://nineinchnews.com/ted-cruz-says-o ... te-claims/
Asked about the recent accusations against Humana by the Attorney General Lori Swanson in Minnesota, Texas Senator Ted Cruz said:

“Remember, the bottom line for a corporation is profits. If the claim is legitimate and they are going to lose money on it, they should be able to, in good conscience, deny the claim, in the interest of profit.”

So, good ole Teddy sez, "Medicare is an entitlement program that needs to be eliminated."
I guess we know whose pocket he lives in.

Nine Inch News is satire isn't it? I'm having a little trouble believing this report...

Here's another story in Nine Inch featuring Ted Cruz...

Yes it turns out it is a satire site. It is hard to tell these days what is real and what is satire.

However the Humana information is real.

Even though the Cruz remark was satire, I wouldn't be surprised if people like him actually believed that.

Yeah, a lot of people seem to equate Medicare and Social Security with welfare, and think that it's fine to cut benefits based on that...for those of us who have paid into them for our whole working lives and won't get anything back until retirement, it's hard to view it as welfare. More like an insurance program, seems to me.

No, it is not like an insurance policy. Insurance companies invest your money so they will be able to pay future claims.

The government takes your money as it comes in and spends it immediately. There is nothing there for future claims.

When people like Bernie Madoff do this, they go to prison. When politicians do it they get reelected.

You people are so ignorant of economics. You should not be allowed to vote and then we would not be in such messes.

Oh, don't worry. We already have enough economically illiterate down here to keep electing the same crooks over and over.

Well, regarding my economic literacy, I'll just say you don't have much to go on in passing judgement.

By the way, I agree with the rest of your post regarding the Ponzi scheme nature of many entitlement programs.

I believe they mean that it should be like an insurance program.

And "you people"? That's a broad and quite frankly rude statement.

You noticed! I also noticed that cpapist is not registered, and may not even use cpap.

A staffer in my democrat senator's local office agreed with me that social security was based on Ponzi scheme economic planning.
