Which free software would be best to use?

Post by DeeMax45 » Fri Jun 21, 2013 8:57 pm

I started with my machine mid-March of this year so I am fairly new to the sleep apnea world.

I have the PR REMstar Auto A-Flex Model DS560S. My doctor recently changed me over from CPAP to Auto with a pressure range of of 5-20. I've uploaded my data to SleepMapper.com, but it only shows general things like Mask Fit, Hours Used and AHI, and I'd really like to be able to see more details including how high a pressure setting I end up with each night.

I had heard that SleepyHead might have a "fix" of some kind that allows you to use it with the 60 Series PR machines and that there is also one called Encore Basic that also works with the 60 Series. I am using Win7 64-bit on my computer.

Thanks,

Dee in FL

You can use either one, so why not try both and decide for yourself?

Here's the link to SleepyHead. Be sure to get version 0.9.3 from the list. The
version described as current at the top of the page is NOT the current version.

http://sourceforge.net/projects/sleepyhead/files/

And here's a link to Pugsy's Pointers on installing and using SleepyHead.

Finally, check your private message box. I'll send you what you need to get the other one.

Wow! That was certainly a quick response.

Thanks so much for all of the info. I'll check them both out.

Thanks again,

Direct link to the current 0.9.3 version of SleepyHead. Great software. No patch needed.

Oops...I just noticed that it appears to be for 32-bit and I have Win7 64-bit. Will that still work?

It will work just fine. There is not 64-bit version of SleepyHead, and 64-bit machines can run 32-bit software.

BTW, if you're ever trying to locate the folder containing the SleepyHead software it will be in C:\Program Files(x86),
where 32-bit programs are typically located. 64-bit programs are usually in C:\Program Files.
