Hey disturbed, welcome to the forum. When you get a chance, please take a moment to go in the user control panel go into profile, and set up you equipment. Then in future posts, it helps anyone helping you know what you are using. Make sure you select text, like it shows beneath my name.

I know when I first started with my machine, I felt great the first few days, then not as great on the 4th. This is usually attributed to needing to repay your sleep debt.

Welcome! I've been at it just over two weeks now. I took easy to wearing the mask but am wrestling with leak issues. However, I still feel better than I did before therapy started. I've been slowly increasing my minimum pressure each night and found the exhale setting at 3 to be very helpful.

Yes it's normal. Eventually that hurricane force wind won't seem nearly so forceful. The body will adjust but it takes some time.
Your machine has Flex exhale relief available...are you using it? setting choices are 1, 2 and 3.
Your machine also has a ramp feature where it starts out at a lower pressure and gradually works up to that 10 cm...are you using it?

Talked with him in Chat a little while ago, I'm not sure if he's using Ramp but he's going to use Flex tonight (at 3), hopefully we'll hear good news in the a.m.

If you talk to him again...tell him to utilize the Flex demo available in the Flex menu.
A setting of 3 doesn't guarantee the best or most reduction like it does with the S9 EPR.
It's hard to describe but it's more of a breathing rhythm because the reduction is base on the air flow and not a straight cm drop. It a timing thing in conjunction with a small reduction. No where near 3 cm that people think is going to happen...but get the right setting and timing...and it feels just as good as EPR at 3.
The higher the number...the faster the rhythm and for some people that 3 setting can make them feel like they are hyperventilating trying to keep up.
I noticed it myself and the setting of 2 was immensely more comfortable than a setting of 3.

He may do just great with a setting of 3...that would be wonderful so if he comes here in the AM and had a problem....believe it or not..sometimes less is more when it comes to Flex exhale relief.

Stick with it. I've been on it since Dec. 28th. Best thing I've ever done. Can't imagine going to sleep without it. Feel much more awake toward the end of my work day and feel much healthier.

Agreed. It does take a while to get used to the "mask thing" on your face. Pretty soon, you won't be able to sleep without it!

He has a Remstar 560 APAP machine, he said that he's running on straight CPAP at pressure of 10. I didn't know enough about the PR machines to make a recommendation about the Flex feature, he just told me that he had turned Flex on at 3. I'm sure he'll see your post soon. I told him to look for your post as it would appear any minute.
