Watch out for Somnapure Sample Offers

Post by 49er » Sat Jan 05, 2013 9:14 am

This situation is in the "I should know better but I did it anyway" type of deal.

Anyway, the company was offering a free sample so I signed up for it. But when the screen came asking for my credit card number, I backed out. In reading the fine print, you would have to cancel in order for the products to stop being delivered. And I have read alot of horror stories about people cancelling only to have the company ignore them.

And these folks call me to try and get a sale.

Obviously, it is the old adage if it sounds too good to be true, it is.

Just want to save other people the trouble in case they were tempted by this offer.

Lets all take turns and bump the consumer warning up top where it will be seen.

Almost got me too when I tried to purchase something. Woke up just in time. Bank closed my account and opened another for me. Reading fine print is a really good idea!

50 years ago, it was the Columbia Record Company.
The target market were naive teens and tweens
Same breed of dirt bags are going after seniors now.

As Voltaire wrote: "“There is no doubt of it; but in this country it is found good, from time to time, to kill one Admiral to encourage the others.”

It is very very common, that hook. "Try this book/record/vitamin/piece of crap for free and we send you one every month without telling you how to stop it"

Yeah... well... what I ordered had nothing to do with seniors or vitamins... I ordered a piece of crap that I saw on TV. I had a loud fit when I realized I was going to get another one every month. They said they stopped my order but I wasn't going to take a chance... so that's when my bank stepped in. Lesson learned.

I bought Somnapure at Wal-Mart. It's super cheap there (about $9), no hidden contracts or scams or monthly shipments to cancel. It's also available at CVS.

If anyone has tried this product please let me know how it worked for you. The dosage on the bottle says to take 2 at night, and looking at the ingredients that seemed way too strong for me, and I am afraid if I need to wake up I won't be able to, So I only took 1/2 of 1 pill which is 1/4 the recommended dose. It did put me right to sleep but it didn't keep me there. I still woke up every 2-3 hours. Maybe because I didn't take the full dose.

Hi Java,

Thanks for sharing your experiences.

Your caution in starting slowly is warranted as many times, the starting dose is too much for alot of people.

I think with OTC sleep meds, it hard to say as to why it didn't work for you since insomnia is such a complex issue. In your case, do you have trouble with falling asleep, staying asleep, or both? What is this product supposed to allegedly do?

And even if you took the full dose, I am not sure that is a guarantee it would work as I really doubt the effectiveness of many of these supplements long term. Still, I am always tempted to try one every now and then.

I have trouble staying asleep. I wake up every 2-3 hours. I have been this way for 9 years. I was hoping CPAP would fix that but it has been 4 months and I still have the fragmented sleep and frequent wakings. The product claims "Somnapure is the safe and effective natural sleep aid that will help you fall asleep faster, stay asleep longer, and wake up feeling refreshed." Well who doesn't want that!?
