Encore Pro v. 1.6i download for professionals only?

Hi,
I purchased the Encore Pro and Smart Card Reader Combo about 2 years ago and own version 1.4 of the software. Recently I began having problems with the smart card reader not being recognized by the Encore Pro software.

I went through numerous gyrations and phone calls to Respironics support (who did their best to help me).

During the back-and-forth with Respironics, I was told by one of their techs that they are having 'everyone' (with issues) upgrade to version 1.6i of the Encore Pro. He referred me to their special download link where I was all set to get the upgrade version, until it asked for an "account number" (for Respironics dealers).

Further phone calls back to Respironics to beg for the upgrade even for "a patient, not a professional healthcare provider" were to no avail.

Has ANYONE obtained a legitimate download of version 1.6i of Encore Pro and if yes, do you have a contact person at Respironics I could ask for help from?

I would love to have the 'upgrade' as I am told it is more robust and less buggy than the earlier releases.

Suggestions for a lowly 'patient' appreciated.

BTW, I realize I could purchase this product AGAIN and get a later version, but that seems unfair as it is only an iteration upgrade (1.4 to 1.6) not a GENERATION upgrade 1.0 to 2.0
