SleepMapper

Post by luvtosleep » Mon Sep 03, 2012 8:55 pm

Philips Resperonics announced at the SLEEP2012 conference (June 2012 in Boston) that SleepMapper, a self-management system for smart phones, tablets, computers would be available in August. Has anyone seen this yet or know if it has been released?

Here is a link where you can add your email to be notified when it is released...

https://www.sleepmapper.com/Home/Coming ... urnUrl=%2f

I liked the "Take an active role in your sleep apnea therapy" quote on the page. Wouldn't it be nice if more of the DME's and doctors agreed?

Looks like it's very limited information and requires you to use their wireless modem that you have to pay a monthly charge for, not the SD card.

I spoke with a Philips Respironics support person this morning who referred me to the SleepMapper.com website. He says the service is slated to launch in mid-February 2013.

http://www.sleepmapper.com/get_started.html

According to that page, you can read the SD card into your PC:
To see results on your computer:

Use the SD card included in your System One therapy device and follow these easy steps:

From the sleepmapper.com website, select the Login button.
Create your free account.
Begin transmitting your sleep therapy data.

Of course, what I'd really prefer would be if SleepyHead could read the new PR System One (3.0) data from the SD card. It's such a great program, but alas, the new data format is unrecognized by SleepyHead.

Is that specifically for the new PR 3.0 data format? I didn't see a mention of a recent patch on the SourceForge help forum. I'll check it out.

I bet the patch will do it for you. I had the same problem with my machine and the patch fixed me right up.

SleepMapper is vaguely promising in that it is a token acknowledgement that patients might actually be interested in their data, but (1) it doesn't look like it actually provides much and (2) it looks like the rollout has been repeatedly pushed back. Not a good sign.

The "Logon" button on the website is not live yet. Sigh.

Has anyone been able to successfully register at the site yet? When I try it tells me that it only accepts machines that are sold in the US and Canada. Of course mine was purchased here in Alabama. Anyone else encounter this?

Looking at the videos on the site, this is a disappointment, at best. What I REALLY think it is is a marketing ploy. I don't think it is given more information than you can already get from the LCD. It looks like it WILL advise you on different masks to try, of course, only those made by Respironics.

Bummer
