First Zeo night
My CPAP scores have been great for 60+ days. Finally bought ZEO to see if I could figure out what is going on. My sleep study showed NO REM or DEEP Sleep. Here's night one with ZEO. No wonder I'm so sleepy during the day. I only had 4.5 hours in bed (unusual for me). Cat kept bugging me and dog got me up at 4 AM and then couldn't get back to sleep so just got up to computer.

Re: First Zeo night
Put the cat and dog out of the room. I had to kick my dog out of the bed. If you're not opposed- try some benadryl to help you sleep longer, though it can mess with your sleep architecture. With your Zeo you should tell if benadryl makes things worse. If opposed to pills, and even if not, start problem solving about sleep hygiene- caffeine and such (exercise, eating too late, Tv/ computer too much before bedtime.). The zeo should help here by pointing out helpful changes. It can be a long process to pin down problems. Some people are extraordinarily sensitive to caffeine. Good luck.

Re: First Zeo night
How does that compare with your psg? I've yet to get a copy of my psg but I am deep sleep challenged as well, averaging only 18 minutes night. Do your wakes coincide with apnea events?

Re: First Zeo night
Geek, I thought I'd throw in here that my Zeo reports mirrored my 3 PSG's very closely. None of my PSG's showed more than 10 minutes deep sleep. My Zeo reported the same. My PSG's showed my sleep architecture to be fractured with many awakenings, my Zeo showed the same.
I have pretty much eliminated apnea as a cause of my awakenings with an AI now less than one. On days following longer deep sleep reported by Zeo, I feel much better and more rested.
I had some preliminary good results in increasing deep sleep by taking Vitamin D3 supplements. I raised my D3 level from 36 to 58 and my deep sleep increased to the 40-50 minute range. However, I have now regressed, and once again, I am only getting 10 minutes or less a night. I'm thinking that my D3 level might now be too high - or It dropped back down with a reduction in supplementation suggested by my doctor. I'm due for another blood test soon to get a handle on where it now stands. I started supplementing with 4000 IU per day and have dropped back to 2000.

Wow thats really low. And no real REM. Are you sure you are wearing the headband with the sensors along your forhead and not on the back of your head?VikingGnome wrote:My CPAP scores have been great for 60+ days. Re: First Zeo night
My current weekly average is ZQ 85 and I'm on an uptrend. Of course, getting 1 night of high score for either of us can be done by not sleeping well for a few nights, then zonking for 10 hours. Consistency is king in this game, with an upward trend for a sign of improvement.

Re: First Zeo night
I'm jealous, my best night had a ZQ of 87. I slept 531 minutes, woke 9 times totally 1 hr 33 minutes. I spent 40 minutes in deep sleep that night, my 4th best ever. The max time in deep was 49.5 minutes. Any time I have a ZQ over 60 I consider an excellent night, only averaging 56.2. I can't wait to break the triple digit mark.My current weekly average is ZQ 85 and I'm on an uptrend. I've read elsewhere about vitamin D and better sleep. I'm about ready to try it.

Re: First Zeo night
My Deep averages 44 minutes the last 2 weeks (1st chart). My time in wake is going down and averaging 6 minutes. I don't think I can ask for more on "wake". Zeo's ability to accurately measure these, and REM, is a bit "iffy", but at least it's a measure for improvement I would not have otherwise.BasementDwellingGeek wrote:I'm jealous, my best night had a ZQ of 87. My doc started me on Vit D, but I don't know the effect. I think I forgetted to make me a note on that in my sleep stuff, so I should go figure out when I started and see if there were any shifts in my metrics.

Re: First Zeo night
Many of my metrics did show improvement shortly after I started on Vit D (2000 mg), though I cannot say definitively it was due to Vit D, with so many other things going on. I suppose I could stop taking it for a week or two and see if they shift down, then start again and look for a shift up, presuming the results are not coincidence even doing that.MaxDarkside wrote:My doc started me on Vit D, but I don't know the effect. I would not do that. If it's working for you, stick with it and don't look back!I suppose I could stop taking it for a week or two and see if they shift down, then start again and look for a shift up, presuming the results are not coincidence even doing that.
