PurSleep Aromatherapy for CPAP

Post by scooter133 » Sun Jan 22, 2012 5:39 pm

Has anyone tried the PurSleep Aromatherapy for CPAP

Was thinking of getting the starter kit. Though my CPAP is in a Drawer, so not sure how well that would work.

I love PurSleep Aromatherapy and I think the starter kit is great value and a good way to find out which scents appeal to you most. Even the tiny sample bottles last quite a while.

I do use other essential oils, but still prefer PurSleep.

Cheers,

I never sleep without my Pur Sleep "Clear". I am also convinced it is because of their great product that my nasal passage do stay clear even when I feel a cold coming on. I have not had a cold since I began my therapy 3 years ago (could be my resistance to bugs are better due to a restful night's sleep with just the machine). I think it is a great product to get used to the machine - pick a nice, pleasant scent and things don't seem all that bad.

Yup. PurSleep is great stuff. Prices are best on their website, http://www.pursleep.com. I used a combo of Clear and Calm to open up my sinuses. Also love To combine Fresh and Creme, as it's like an orange cream scent. You quickly become accustomed to a scent, so buy the starter pack. You can alternate the scents out each night. You can also buy 5 to start with. Pick the ones that appeal most to you. The descriptions of the scents are accurate. the 5ml size lasts quite a while. I just ordered refills and its been 2 months.

Scott,

I have been using PurSleep Clear almost every night for about 2 months. I know it really helped out recently when I had a cold and had only one side of my nose that I could breathe through (I use a nasal mask). It seemed to open up my nose some more and make it possible to still use the nasal mask. In fact I like the Clear scent so much I just bought a larger refill bottle so I don't run out. I have the Calm scent as well but have not used it yet.

How does your water chamber hold up to these? Do they leave any kind of residue? Xenablue, are essential oils bad for the plastic?

It's a little ROUGH on the plastic if put in the tank <<NOT RECOMMENDED>> the Fiber Diffusion Pads SAVE the possibility of DAMAGE to your Equipment or furniture surfaces.

If you have 1/2" to 3/4" clearance by the air intake/filter it should work better than if out in the open table top!

Ummm.. you don't put the oils anywhere NEAR the humidifier tank. The oil is put on an absorbent pad near the air intake

Cheers,

Oops, I didn't do my normal research and jumped the gun about it going in the tank. I'll have to give it a try.

Love the PurSleep products. Creme (a vanilla scent) and Paradise are my favorites. I also like to combine creme with blackcherry. Agree with the others about Clear. If you're at all stuffed up clear is fantastic.

Is there a benefit to the Pursleep line over other essential oils you can get?

I have been thinking about making this a DIY and placing a cotton ball or pad, with some essential oil on it, by the air intake, placing the cotton on something.....perhaps even a piece of cardboard bent to resemble the shape of the little stand the disc goes on.

Has anyone done this?

Thanks,
Jill

I use a little cotton ball. Works fine. I have a tiny ceramic swan and I put the cotton ball on its back between its wings. Keeps the oil from getting on the table and is just the perfect height to have the cotton ball right at the air intake where the filter is. I have used regular essential oils as well as the PurSleep oils. Either one works fine. Sometimes I get too much on the cotton ball and have to move the swan away from the air intake a bit because scent is too strong initially.

Pugsy, that is a GREAT idea using the ceramic swan. I am positive I can find a suitable piece from among my, ah, stuff (so as not to say crap!) that will work for the cotton ball.
