I think this is a self-administered forum but I rarely see "inappropriate comments", usually just a few ininformed ones. The experts can spot those posted on purpose to "stir the pot" and we have a little fun with it for awhile and then the OP usually disappears. This forum works very well and it's home to most of us.

Just ignore it when it gets beyond your comfort level. Life's too short to get upset.

Heck, these guys are minor-leaguers compared with some brough-ha-ha's in the past, anyway. (Don't ask how *I* know...lol)

Take what knowledge you can from the early posts, and bail out when it goes over the cliff. (Unless you WANT to read on out of prurient interest...) Heck, as long as they are having a good time, why spoil it?

I had to go read the thread to see what the "hub bub" was about. I have no experience with the ResMed S9 so I typically don't read those threads.

I have to agree with LinkC on this -- life is too short. These "things" tend to crop up every now and again and this particular one is fairly tame compared to some others.

Let the "kiddies" fight it out -- they'll get tired of it eventually. Then the forum can get back to the issue of sharing and helping each other.

There's always the "report spam" button as a last resort. I clicked it once for what i thought was not appropriate, thinking it would send a message to moderator. Little did I know that it "erased the post" - not sure what happened after that? Never did it again!

The forum would not exist without "Administrators". They created it and keep it running.
If you're talking about "Moderators"........that's a somewhat different issue. This forum has been lightly (at most) moderated and the owners/creators/benefactors have put their trust in the users/members to keep things on the up and up.
Over the years, there have been some pretty heated debates and battles that went on here. Those who could not be "civil", probably left or don't post much anymore. The vast majority of us are "adults" (at least age-wise) and are expected to act that way. On the other hand, many of us are very opinionated.......
In comparison to others, this forum is VERY polite. I think everybody TRIES their best to keep it that way, but everyone has their days when they're out of sorts or words don't come across like they're intended. Just don't take it personally.

If you want a VERY HEAVILY moderated forum, we can make recommendations. No links are allowed to vendor or commercial sites. No instructions are allowed on how to change machine settings......or suggestions for improving a person's therapy. The standard answer is "Go see (or talk to) your doctor or DME."......or, "Just hang in there". Those heavily-moderated forums are becoming "ghost towns" because the users can't get the information they "need"......the reasons they ended up seeking out the forums is usually because of the inadequate support from their "medical professionals".

Just remember the old "Sticks & Stones" saying.

Deleting a post just because you don't like something that someone said.......and that is NOT SPAM can get your "Report SPAM" button removed.

As I said, only did it once - not realizing how it worked. Fortunately the post was for a link to pirated software so I presume JG agreed

It has come to my attention that maybe my words in the post that was in this slot could have been perceived as hurtful, although that was not my intention. So I have decided to remove it on my own, in the spirit of goodwill and peace. Sorry about that.

he doesn't like things he considers OT and whines oh please where is a moderator when I need one

the OP really needs his own forum to control -

I wonder who would join it?

he might be able to police it to his suiting with only one member

actually he called more attention to that other thread by posting this one

That's not the thread that gpk111 wanted purged...
he posted another thread that he thought would be helpful to Newbies...

No sooner had he posted... everyone jumped all over him with both feet.
I believe he really was trying to be helpful and suddenly realized that it was a very unpopular idea.

If people must read the original... theres not much left of it... just a few bones... thankfully.
