It's Friday....again...how'd everybody do?

Post by yawn » Fri Sep 16, 2005 6:27 am

Well, I didn't see any change on my scale this week but that's ok with me. I know it will happen. I am "feeling" changes in my body...my face feels thinner when I wash it. My legs and arms are also feeling tighter...yeah!
I did have some trouble with being hungry the past few days. Maybe ravenous would be a better description. I pretty much stuck to healthy foods, but I probably ate more than I should have. I had a bad night last night...mask was leaking more than usual and my arms were itching terribly (due to Fall allergies). I finally gave up and got out of bed at 4:45 a.m. I had a cup of coffee and then decided to do my work-out. I did my 30 minutes on the Elliptical and was all done by 6:00. It sure felt good to have that behind me. Now, I just have to fight off the "munchies" because I'm always extra hungry when I'm so tired.

I can't wait to hear from everybody. Please post a note...good or bad...we're here to support each other, not judge each others' progress.

See ya'll tonight....Amy

Good morning, early bird. I don't have good news to report. Up one pound, but I think the time of the month has a lot to do with it (four days and counting to go). I also had a piece of celebratory cake last night (OMG, did the sugar not burst in my mouth after not having it for so long) for my oldest passing his registry test for Respiratory Care. He is now at the highest rank one can go which is an RRT, Registered Respiratory Therapist. Not bad after graduating in June. He is the first one in his class to take both parts and pass it (we are proud of him). It's like the RN of nursing as opposed to being an LPN, having a license and then being one notch higher. But that cake...I have to say, I took a sliver and thought about going back for more as it was incredible, the frosting... But I controlled the urge. I woke up and there was the last quarter of it, sitting on the dining room table, taunting me, "Come eat me...come eat me!!!" But I resisted temptation since I'd rather be healthy and feel good than eat.

Anyway, have to get on the bike later and pedal this pound off, which may not even help for another week, until it's over...I feel the PMS headache this morning coming on, so I at least I know what it's from. Do you have the same pre-effects as I do? Headaches, weight gain, all the fun stuff? Geez, by now you'd think we'd get a break? Then we go into perimenopause...gotta love being a woman.

I'm glad to hear you didn't gain. That is a beautiful thing. And with all the exercise you've been doing, all I can say is BRAVO, AMY. And I look forwarad to hearing from all the others who said they'd take part in this support group. Good luck, everyone.

This will not be easy traveling as I do. But when told the alternatives

So, by next Friday, my goal is three pounds!

Had an incredibly busy week, out every night, and will have to go into work (office) on Saturday to try to catch up. I dropped 3 lbs but didn't manage to exercise properly so some of it is just water. I admire you guys that are keeping up with your exercise because even if you are not dropping pounds every week you are building up muscle and raising your metabolism. Don't stop because the system slows back down so quickly.

Keep up the good work! and send me a personal trainer please !!!

PS When I reach my mini-goal of 10 lbs I will buy myself an iPod to hold my music collection.

It's Friday again...

Well I am happy today. I weighed in at L.A. today and dropped 3 lbs so now I am down 14 lbs. I think the drop was because I went on a water and vegetable fast for one day to boost my sluggish metabolism which wasn't doing anything for a while. I think I will do this one day a week (lots of water, apple juice and green veggies with 2- 3 oz servings of low fat protein). Anxious to get into the 240's from my high of 267. Losing a few pounds does wonders for your mood and makes you want to continue. Discouragement is the worst thing to have when you are dieting, that and impatience. Have a really good week everyone and write to me for encouragement if you need it. CareS

Don't know. I had to fly out yesterday on 3 hours notice for a customer emergency, so I'm in VA and my scale is in FL. I'll weigh in on Monday instead.

Congratulations to everyone! Yeah for all the pounds lost!

To those who stayed the same or gained - it was a victory for you to post here too! It is good to be accountable to yourself and truly helps when you know others are there to support your victories and struggles too!

2.5 pounds! I'm happy - starting a food journal to track my eating. Watched the "Biggest Loser" on TV the other night - sort of inspired me!

I've been bouncing back and forth between 204 (briefly) and 210....my body seems to be so sensitive to salt and water weight just comes and goes depending on how much salt I eat. Yesterday I ended up eating very salty hot dogs (no buns) dipped in baseball mustard...I'm a serious saltaholic and so the scales this morning put on 6 pounds...I don't normally eat processed meats that have salt and nitrates, etc...so there ya go...

I am just putting my toe in the water as far as exercise goes...been a real couch potato lately...did a little dog walking this week in the metroparks...

Other than that, doing pretty well eating healthfully....splurges included a nice juicey sliced freestone peach....yum...Terry

Hi All....everyone did so awesome this week. Congratulations to all. I also lost 3 1/2 lbs...yahoooo. It was my first week. My husband and daughter are also joining me so that will help me. Tonight is my treat night...1 small bag of chips and 1 chocolate bar...then I promise to get right back on it.

Amy....you go girl ...you're doing so good. Next week will show some weight loss. And Amy...thanks for starting this...it has got me going.
