Hey guys,
When I had my sleep study a month ago, they told me my oxygen level dipped down to 78% at one point after only two hours sleep without a CPAP during the first part of my split night study. They ended the study there and then put me on the CPAP. I have no idea what my saturation levels would have gone down to in the later hours but it probably would not have been good. My Resmed S8 Auto II machine and software has a section for Oximetry Readings. It would be nice to keep all my data in the same place and on the same piece of software. In another thread Gerald recommended the SPO-7500 Oximeter from turnermedical.com. That looked good but it won't connect with my resmed machine or software. And CPAP.com doesn't sell anything other than the one stand alone Oximeter. They say they used to sell the ones that connected to the machine but they stopped for some reason.
So, any suggestions where and how I can get an Oximeter that will work with my Resmed S8 Auto II? Appreciate the help.

Re: Need Oximeter to work with Resmed S8 Auto II
Briefly, you will need a ResLink module for your S8 and an 02 sensor that connects to the Reslink.
Never mentioned much on here, the cost is prohibitive to most.

I don't think that here are any except the 1,000$ solution made by ResMed and extremely difficult to find.
Look at my signature. This is a good, reasonable and not too expensive solution but it won't be integrated. I would also think that this is the most popular solution. It does everything you need (and 450$ and even 750$ solutions don't do much more). That device has memory and software is included.

Does one need a prescription for an oximeter? Does the xPAP prescription suffice?
Masks I've tried but didn't like :
FlexiFit HC405 - couldn't stop the leaks

No prescription needed. I just ordered that CMS 50-E that apnez mentioned. I saw it recommended by someone else around here recently as well. Several places have it for $140 with no shipping. It would be convenient to have something that can be charted with the ResScan software, but the price gap is too big.DBoone wrote:Does one need a prescription for an oximeter? [For the sub-thread about inexpensive alternatives to (expensive) pulse oximeters that would integrate with the Resmed S8 Auto II]
I have the CMS60C. It's a hand-held sibling model with external probe, versus the wrist-worn or integrated finger models. It's a little more expensive than the integrated unit, but I didn't want the whole unit flopping around on my finger all night (I was also concerned about wear and tear from having the main unit "in motion", having "sleep-by" collisions with my wife, etc).

Re: Need Oximeter to work with Resmed S8 Auto II
For oximetry via the S8 AutoSet II, you first need the aforementioned S8 ResLink Module. (There's a different one for prior models of machine.) They have been discontinued by ResMed. but you might be able to find one on cpapauction.com (I did) or craigslist.
Then you need one of two specific models of oximeter made by Nonin. They are pro-grade and expensive.
If you search the foum for ResLink you can find threads with more info.
